Parts Express Cast Frame #10-32 Speaker Mounting Kit
Cast Frame #10-32 Speaker Mounting Kit is rated 3.9583 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great to keep my woofers (and tweeters) inI bought these to upgrade / rebuild some 15" two-way speakers that I was 'gifted' from a business associate that owed me some money. I use the larger set (14"-20) on my big cabinets but for a simple two-way these work great. I had to use some washers on the Yamaha woofer (Eminence in reality I'll wager, but I digress) but they hold well, and don't loosen up over time. I've had some issues where the t-nuts will fall out of the particle board face panels (if removing and re-installing the drivers multiple times), but it's nothing that a little epoxy can't solve. I really like these kits as you get everything you need for a single driver and the price is very reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't complain, these worked fine for me.I've used this kit for a couple of different projects now; most recently to replace some stripped bolts on my Traynor YCV40. The bolts fit the old t-nuts perfectly, so I didn't use the whole kit this time, but the kit as a whole worked great for a speaker cabinet build I did a while ago. No complaints.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It fits.I just ordered the W5-1611 and these fit perfectly...in some of the mounting holes. I blame the speakers for that, but thankfully the frame is plastic so that can be easily fixed. The T-nuts are a good fit as well with little free-play.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I agree with previous reviewer: use glueI wish I had read the reviews before trying to use these. I found that the bolts are just slightly too big in diameter, like by the thickness of the anodized coating, and they cause the bolt to catch with enough pressure to pull the t-nut teeth out (of MDF, in my case) if you go too fast. Cement the bolts in as the other poster suggested or else use very, very little torque on your screwdriver when driving the bolts. Or, purely conjecture, maybe pre-mating the bolt and nut would strip enough of the anodizing (anodizement?) off the bolt to make it not catch.

Just curious what size hole to drill for these.

Asked by: raidercrazy88
These require a 1/4" hole for mounting.

Will this be suitable for speakers, part number 264-918?

Asked by: Array
Tang Band claims the mounting hole diameter is 5mm, the diameter of the #10 screw is ~4.8mm so it will be close but these should work without a problem.

minimum baffle thickness?

going to use 1/2 inch mdf mounting 8 inch dvc woofer (below) are these too long/big for that?
Asked by: Dave B
The length of the unthreaded shaft is 1/4" so these will work fine for your application.

What 's the diameter of a "10"?

Is a 10 larger than 1/4"?(I'm looking for a hex head to fit the 5.5mm holes specified by Dayton for the RSS315HF-4).(Interesting that the HO version of this driver specifies 6.5mm holes.)Thanks!
Asked by: TShifrin
A #10 is smaller than a 1/4"screw. In terms of dimensions, the head diameter of these is just under 8 mm, while the shaft diameter is about 4.5 mm. On a baffle, I often drill holes larger than 4.5 mm. Then I use a 6 mm (inner diameter) washer that allows for play in the larger hole, while still covering it.
