Parts Express 800 Hz High Pass 8 Ohm Crossover
Parts Express 800 Hz High Pass 8 Ohm Crossover is rated 4.75 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Repairing speakers brought them back to lifeThe old crossover in two speakers I got didn't separate the low and high range very well, letting bass into the midrange and possibly damaging it, but this one is much better about separating frequencies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good crossoverI bought two of these to use with a 6 1/2" Pyle sealed midrange and 12" woofer in two bass cabinets. They work very well. I have ordered two low pass filters for the woofers. Bar inductors are used, which are lower resistance than coils...not necessary with high pass filters, but are far better with low pass. Very nice indeed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect.... what more would you need?Well I'm relatively new in the speaker building hobby, but idecided to get this for my first build. At first i couldnt tell it was working during frequency testing, but it really shined when it was ACUTALLY playing music. My Aurasound NSW1 (full/mid tweet) used to make horrible sounds when it got bassy, but not its crisp and clean, and hits the mids to highs really well.In my POV, it everything i needed for a really great price. Features.. dont know how a high pass could possibly have any more features to it unless it has variable x-over point controller or something xD

Will this x-over do 1600hz at 4 ohms?

Asked by: Bassman999
No. When using a second order filter, the cap and coil induce a resonance of the 2 components' Fc, and this resonance remains the same no matter the load. When you use an 8 ohm load or a 4 ohm load, the Q of this filter will in fact change as a result. This alters the response at the knee where the filter starts increasing impedance to attenuate the driver and induce the driver's rolloff. Due to this change in Q, and resulting tilt of the rolloff knee, the F3 or F6 of the filter may indeed change. It however, will not likely be by a full octave like you hope.
