Parts Express 12" Square Frame Paper Cone Woofer Black
I have Advent A4 speakers and would like to replace the woofers. They are not round, not square but Octogonal. 12.5" measuring diagonally from each octogonal point; 11.5" diagonally from each of the 4 screw holes. Will a 12" square (part #290-916) work?
This requires a bit more information in order to proceed. Please contact our tech support for more help with this question, email@example.com or 800-338-0531 x1.

I have a Realistic Optimus-50 High-Compliance woofer that needs to be replaced, the frequency response on my speaker is 50-20,000 Hz, your speaker frequency response is 35-3,000 Hz, will that make a diference is sound quality.
The enclosure will determine the low end of the response and the upper end will be helped with the mids and tweeters in the enclosure. This woofer should work perfectly fine for that application.

What are the hole dimentions
The holes are 9-1/4" from one corner to the adjacent corner and 13" diagonally. They are 6mm in diameter.

For optimum mid bass response & elimination of port noise how large should the enclosure & port be?
how long & wide should the port be?
For mid-bass application larger enclosure, no port. Say, 2-3 cu feet [assuming you are making a 2 or 3-way box]. For a little more punch and lower bass response, add a 2" x 5-6" port tube. I use PVC tubing glued in and sometimes you can find PVC fittings with flanges. For large sub woofers I have used toilet flanges. They are cheap and look cool .

What is the diameter across mounting holes? Thanks.
you will have to measure as the standard holes are more than 11 and less than 12 in, large flange is for cosmetic reasons on a less expensive woofer and may fall outside the usual standards, also cut the hole for a snug fit.
