Parts Express 100 Hz Low Pass 4 Ohm Crossover
Parts Express 100 Hz Low Pass 4 Ohm Crossover is rated 4.125 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from decent cheap crossoverIt is heavy duty and appears to be well built. Unfortunately, I don't 100Hz is low enough for the 8" sub I have, as it still hits too high. Should've went with an 80Hz. Also wouldn't be very easy to mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely builtI am using this for a subwoofer project (see pics). I bought a powered JVC 10" sub box for $5 at a pawn shop. I ripped the guts out, and added a Dayton Audio SD270A-88 DVC 10" woofer. For my set-up I found that there was too many high freqs coming through. So, I bought two of these low pass filters. They work like a charm! 100Hz is perfect and nailed it the first time. Seriously smooth. The JVC box's structure is too weak for this woofer and the baffle inside for the filters came loose (it rattles at high volume). Right now that is being fixed with Gorilla glue and wood screws.PROS: The filters are WELL built, strong, and heavyCONS: The 4 mounting holes on the ends had to be drilled out to accept wood mounting screws. Needs some type of harness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what I want it to do.I crossed over a 6.5" sub and now it is relatively quieter (as expected) but the bass hits harder and lower. It's really just a barebones crossover but it's all that most people should really need. If you want a higher quality or more specific crossover, just build it yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great With My Subwoofer and 2-channel Amp!I have a two-channel amp, Kicker ZX200.4 to boost the power to my rear speakers. I really needed more bass so I bought a passive subwoofer Bazooka Tube for the trunk and my only option to install it was in Bridged Mode on the amp. This low pass crossover works Awesome! It sits in-line between the Amp and subwoofer and now my audio system sounds Wonderful! What a difference the subwoofer makes. Sounds almost as good as my home system! Kicker recommended a four channel amp to drive the subwoofer, but that was another $175 so I decided to try this crossover.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It will cause interference on other speakersIt will cause interference on other speakers, it dos filters highs. It will send interference to receiver and spreads through out all speakers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OEM PerformanceMy Def Tech 300w low pass amps went south. D/T said woofers crossed @ 100hz/4ohm. Installed these, bypassing the amps. Wow! Cleaner/tighter bottom end. Now they are "clean & green". Those active speaks use a lot of juice. I let the NAD 2700 do what it's supposed to do, everything.

Parts Express 100 Hz Low Pass 4 Ohm Crossover

Thanks for reply. I didn't quite word my question correctly so I'll try again!  What would happen if I wired my FRONT LEFT & FRONT RIGHT channels to the same crossover?  Would it work? If so what effect would it have on the crossover point etc?

Asked by: NOKmondd
If you are wanting to feed two channels from an amplifier into this one crossover it is not recommended and will probably damage your amp. If you are wanting to tie two speakers into this one a single amplifier channel the crossover slope will change slightly due to the shift in impedance but it will not hurt anything.

Can I connect 2 x 4ohm drivers to this? Should they be wired in series or parallel? What effect on the crossover would it have? Thanks!

Asked by: Nokmond
You will want to use the 8 ohm version of this filter is you have two 4 ohm drivers. They will need to be wired in series.http://www.parts-express.com/100-hz-low-pass-8-ohm-crossover--266-446

I have a Alpine 1043d sub from a car. I've made a 40L case and hooked it up to my Harman Kardon HK970. The subwoofer is connected to two rear chanels, both 4ohm. My front speakers are Jamo Studio 180 speakers. I think I need two of these, right? Thanks!

Asked by: Paul_dH
If you are hooking up one coil to each channel yes, you will need two.

What would the effect be if I would hook up an 8 Ohm subwoofer to this crossover.  I accidentally purchased this unit instead of the 8 Ohm version.

Asked by: Bryangiv
Plugging a 4 ohm driver into a crossover meant for an 8 ohm load will cut the crossover frequency in half.

for a dvc (2+2ohm)...

if i combine both 2ohm coils on a sub to run a 4ohm load from amp, do i still need two of this, one for each coil, or can i use the 2ohm coils wired together/4ohm with a single one of these low pass filters?
Asked by: m.oreilly
If you wired the coils in series for a 4 ohm load you only need to use one low pass filter between the subwoofer and amplifier.
