Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bullet-proof with a little effortYes they are cheap but they are great for pedal boards and just need a little thought when soldering. I use Mogami cable. A touch of hot glue under the tip tab after soldering the hot lead stabilizes things. Then take about 30-40% of the shield strands (cut the rest back to the outer sheathing and solder this to the OUTER shell. That avoids using heat on the base shell and melting the plastic sleeve. Mate the two halves carefully using the insulator disc and voila! I also cut away a little of the outer sheathing to ease things up on the mating screws.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor qualityI bought these to build cables for my DIY guitar pedal board. I'm not even halfway through the "should be easy" task of soldering 5 cables and I'm all out of patience. I'm not happy at all.Pros:-Cheap-CompactCons:-No proper way of soldering ground-Inlet to small for average size music instrument cable.-Two miniature screws to keep everything together.-Very poor craftsmanshipHave you noticed they don't show any pictures of the inside of the connector? There's a reason for that... . There's a loose paper piece inside that is suppose to insure that there's no short between live and ground wire. When I read all the bad reviews about it, I thought: bunch of amateurs. So I bought them anyway. Well I was wrong, and these folks were right. They are awful. I know they're cheap but come on, I expected them to at least work...If I had to buy again, I would pay an extra to get something at least half decent that don't require patience I don't have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The do the job.Used a dozen of these and some small diameter cable for a small pedalboard. They were no problem at all -- cheap, take up less space than any other right-angle 1/4 plug, and soldering was a breeze (with a good iron). They aren't the best quality available (I generally use Neutrik, sometimes Switchcraft or George L) but they are adequate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap goodsMay do in a pinch, but very cheap part. I ended up buying switchcraft and am much happier. You get what you pay for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A real pain in the backI'd really like to see PE carry a better quality of right angle plug. I KNOW they can do better than this! Theese plugs are horribly difficult to install and aren't durable no matter how well you solder em. I would be GLAD to pay a little more for BETTER QUALITY of plug.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be careful not to use too much heat!Great plug for pedal boards and you can't argue with the price. You have to be very careful soldering though. Too much heat will melt the nylon insulator and the barrel becomes loose (and intermitent). If the manufacturer used a higher temp plastic this part would earn 5 stars from me.
