Multipile Automotive Carpet Black Yard 40" Wide

Due to consumer demand, Parts Express is now proud to offer latex-free and sustainably-sourced automotive carpets. Our new formulation meets or exceeds the performance criteria of the original product and looks outstanding, but is much more environmentally responsible.

No latex or VOCs are used in this product; the fiber is made from 100% BPA-free polyester fiber sourced from recycled PET plastic drinking bottles. The fibers are locked together with a patent-pending manufacturing process which creates an extremely durable carpet that will not fray or unravel, and is also mold, mildew, and stain resistant. Made in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only carpet I'll ever use!I'm not a professional installer and fabricator, but I do know my way around the shop. I build automotive enclosures for people as a hobby and love to be able to offer this material to my customers. The plush feel and look rivals many of the product car audio shops offer at half the cost. It stretches bends around sharp corners easily. People are very impressed at the final product they receive from me. It does however attract dust and other material so be prepared to vacuum. This is a must have item if you are a professional or novice box builder!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thick, easy to use, looks greatI bought this to recover a piece of masonite i was using to house a power switch and LED panel meter in a speaker system I built. The carpet was easy to cut and stuck on great with the 3M #77 adhesive I used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid carpet for boxes.Carpeted a small subwoofer box with this. Used 3m 77 adhesive spray. Material is tough with just a little bit of stretch. Perfect for speaker boxes. Excellent value for the price (since I couldn't find it locally anyway). As expected from P.E.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap and easy to useProduct is easy to cut, stretch, and glue. The color(s) hold up very well to low-moderate sun exposure. I've been using this carpet for a few years now and find it is easy to tear and pull apart. The product is not meant for heavy duty applications (use the backed carpet instead). I've also found that cats love the carpet for scratching. I've made several scratching posts covered in this carpet for my cats which keeps them from scratching furniture!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Easy to InstallThis carpet is extremely easy to work with - cuts with regular scissors, stretches to form-fit over curves and bumps and adheres well with simple spray adhesive. Plus it looks and feels fantastic once it's done. I couldn't be happier with it!

Acoustically Transparent?

Is this carpet acoustically transparent? I'd like to use it in the rear package tray of my '71 Camaro and don't want any speakers or grills visible. I'm going for stealth audio.
Asked by: amalmer71
I surely doubt it, except, perhaps at the lowest frequencies. This is the type of rugged yucky carpet that lines the storage spaces of the car. for what you're looking to do, try protecting your speakers with perforated steel grill, painted flat black and cover it all with "speaker grill cloth" or some such thin, loosely woven fabric.
