Morel SCM 634 Supreme 6" Midrange
What is the recommended enclosure volume for use in a 2 way?
Considering pairing with an Aurum Cantus AST 30130. Can you provide design details & parts for a suitable crossover with this combo? What would be the recommended cabinet volume & port size for the woofer?regards,John
This tough little speaker would be happy in a vented 0.5cu-in box. The port size depends on your taste. I usually use a 2" round port--with or without a tube. As for your tweets--you have a wide range of crossovers that would work. I have a few that "May" work for you. Concern is the 4ohm woofer. Check the PE's web page about "designing loudspeakers". Great info for this project. You may need a hi-pass and a separate low pass filter--But it will be worth it.

SCM634 crossover freq's and enclosure volume?
Hi, I'm aiming to match the Morel SCM 634 with the 10" woofer UW1058 and ST 728 tweeters. What crossover freqencies would be best suited? What volume enclosure would be best for the SCM634? I presume sealed? The UW1058 I could see 1.75 cubic feet with a 3" diameter flared port by 12" long for F3 about 32Hz. Thanks loads for any assistance
The enclosure for this will only matter if it is crossed low enough. If you want a dedicated three way speaker, this will be crossed somewhere around 300-400 Hz so the enclosure size will not matter. I would recommend a sealed enclosure for the woofer, with room gain it should easily play into the low 30's. One cubic foot should be ideal.
