from 3 way WMTTMWThis would be my first 3 way design and I chose this Morel 4" mid based on specs and overall system design goals...I wanted desperately to use the SCM 634 Supreme mid but I couldnt justify the cost to my client....Its difficult to rate thus far as the high end of my 3 way is the Dayton PT2C-8 planar tweeter and this driver definitely needs some breaking in... Ill just say thus far that my initial listening tests are very positive with mainly classical and jazz music played on a Marantz 6001 SACD and a Denon AVR....The low end of this design is the Morel CAW938 9" woofer... The bass extension is tight and I even left my subwoofers off for the first hour of listening and was very pleased... Mid-range is smooth and seamless into the upper range...The xover is a Dayton 3 way 625/5k ... I have used the PT2C-8 in my way designs and it never dissapoints And its back to a very reasonable price point ...Although the Morel drivers were 20% off, which also figured in my decision to buy them, they are still pricey which lowered my value rating to average... That being said they appear to be very well constructed and so far I am very satisfied with the overall sound quality and would definitely choose the same components again and would recommend this 3 way design to anyone... I built these for a very important client of mine to upgrade his Home Theater.... I did do the research and the math before begging this project ... 2 weeks of very hard work and a few redo's to get them just right....I'll follow up in a month or so ...
