Momentary N.O. Metal Recessed Push Button Switch
How much clearance is required behind panel?
The minimum depth from the back of the mounting lip to the back of the terminals would need to be no less than 35mm (1.38")

Functionality of switch
I am assuming that this switch just makes a momentary contact when pressed. Like it is used for door bell. Am I right?? I m looking for industrial 120Volt switch just to make a connection between two wires when prssed and released like door bell. Pl sugges. I am looking for one with 1/2 inches dia and the stub length of 1- 1/2 to 2 inches.
N.O. means normally open (circuit). So when you push the recessed button, the switch closes the circuit between the two terminals, and will keep the circuit closed as long as the button is held in. The Parts Express specs indicate that the switch can handle up to 4 amps AC at 125VAC. It is not clear, but the 4A rating probably applies to a resistive or inductive load, but not a incandescent lamp load b/c the lamps have a high surge current at startup.
