With Middle Atlantic's new RackLink™ line of products it's quick and easy to gather information about your rack environment, and make that information available night or day, locally, or remotely via web integration, from a web browser or even your smartphone. You can monitor your system's conditions in real time from literally anywhere in the world with internet access, and manage most options from the same simple interface. You can also be alerted via email, engage dry contact actions (on select models), engage or disengage selected outlets (on select models), or set the system to reboot when certain conditions are met, thresholds exceeded, and so forth.
Some variables which are monitored and logged include:
• Input voltage (Peak & RMS) • Load current (Peak & RMS) • Temperature • Surge status • Connected load (Watts/real time) • Cumulative load (kWh/historical) • Power factor • Thermal load
These variables are logged every five minutes (or immediately on alert conditions), and can be easily viewed on-site, or extracted by by a control system via RS232 or IP protocols using Middle Atlantic's API (custom drivers available for a growing number of popular control systems). You can also set thresholds or conditions that will engage dry contacts, send email notification, reboot power, and more. This can be not only very slick and handy, but also save you lots of money by protecting your equipment during an alert situation. For instance, you can set the system to engage additional cooling equipment, or to disengage certain heat-generating equipment in your rack if the temperature reaches a specified level. You can have the system notify you via email on such triggers, and you can decide what action to take. With the RackLink™ Power Management System, the power is in your hands.
