Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not quite great. This amp has been my shop background music amp and speaker/crossover testing amp for about a year now.It was extremely easy to setup out of the box, taking no time at all. I have been very impressed with the sound quality, wired especially, but also with the Bluetooth. It has power to spare, running my old tower speakers that have a 10" woofer with plenty of control and damping. My complaints are that the binding posts are pretty close together and if you aren't using banana plugs it can be difficult to wire. And it doesn't seem to like the cold. When it's below 45F (I'm guessing) it stays on for about 20 min before making sound. I'm sure it says that somewhere in the literature. On the other hand, I used this amp relentlessly in direct sunlight in summer in Memphis. Even when the amp was too hot to touch (the power supply especially) it kept on going. I was pretty impressed with that.It does have a nice metal faceplate, however, they skimped out on the volume knob. The knob cover is plastic and is not installed perfectly so about halfway up it begins to rub against the faceplate - which completely cheapens the otherwise nice look. All said and done, it's a good value. I would like to see some other housing options. Maybe a PCB version or some mounting tabs? As it is, it doesn't lend itself well to project integration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great!Simple amplifier solution for listening to your smartphone, ipod or other Bluetooth mp3 player with a standard pair of speakers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, when it worksI like the amp when it works. I use it daily, but every morning it does not want to connect or play music until it seemly warms up. Initial link with Bluetooth appears to be very slow and requires some fiddling around to get it to work. I'm currently using the RCA inputs and it as well takes a while before it starts playing music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best amp for any speakersThis little amp surprised me. Below half volume it is very loud (even at 8 ohms), past half is a distorted mess especially with electronic dance music. Best amp for tinkerers that want 2 speakers powered with the option for bluetooth. Highs are bright and the bass is tight and profound. I am upgrading a vintage turntable cabinet and this is the muscle behind that project.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Caution, killed my Gallaxy S5. Otherwise happy....This is a very impressive tiny ultra-efficient amplifier which truly pushes about 60 watts RMS into 8ohms. I've compared to my Carver, Yamaha, and Onkyo amps and the output is truly impressive. I would describe the tonality of this amp as very bright. By brightness, I intend to suggest that it is not warm or mellow but is very dynamic, and precise (such as the difference between nickle-plated guitar strings and standard steel strings). This is not a criticism as it really does sound very full and strong/dynamic.However, I'm not sure about integrity of the pre-amp circuitry and necessary filtering/isolation because I connected my Samsung S5 via 1/8" stereo port to RCA and my phone's audio circuit was damaged after a couple hours. I did have the volume all the way up, so maybe there is an impedance issues on the pre-amp inputs and perhaps I drew too much current?? Anyhow, be careful what you connect to this amplifier and I recommend not driving your connected device at full volume....The power supply on this amp is actually some 36v 4.5 amp charger repurposed for this application. It seems very cheap in the same way that a cheap laptop power supply is extremely light (and often fails in short order). Time will tell.... Also, it's very hard to find compact 5amp 36v switching power supplies...

Yes you can add a DAC to this amplifier. It will be wired between the amp and your music source, unfortunately I cannot recommend a specific DAC for this application.

Could i use this in a car? Is there a way to use the power supply normally used for the car stereo for it? Also - Is there some sort of harness that would allow me to plug in the cars speakers? My stock car radio is dead and i want to use my i phone.

Asked by: Heilakka
This would not do well in that application, It requires 18-36 volts for the power supply and a vehicle is much lower.
