Lepai LP-A68 2x15W Mini Amplifier with Remote USB MP3 Media Card FM
Lepai LP-A68 2x15W Mini Amplifier with Remote USB MP3 Media Card FM is rated 3.8909 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lepai LP-A68 2x15 Mini amp w/remote, FM TunerI have purchased at least 5 or more of these in the past. They give a big bang for the buck, with overall great performance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice mini ampThe fm tuner does not work at all. The EQ makes very little if any change to the sound and the only thing that works on the remote is the volume control. I brought this to power a pair of homemade speakers in my kitchen off of a MP3 player. For that this works very well

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing.I read the instructions online before buying it and they referred to a display screen, so dummy me thought it would have one (it doesn't) which normally makes tuning the radio difficult since there's no tuning knob. Fortunately, it only gets 1 station, so I guess tuning won't be an issue after all. The USB doesn't seem to recognize WMA files so unless I want to start recording things over in MP3, the USB function is moot also. It's best feature is the price, just low enough that I'll throw it on a shelf or give it away rather than return it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice little driver for a great desktop systemAfter reading the reviews I have to agree with several points:Trying to select a radio station "in the blind" is disconcerting at best, frustrating at worst. Considering that stations only broadcast their id every 30 minutes or so, landing on the station you want is time consuming. On the other hand, once you get used to the selection process, you can figure out where your favorite stations are over time.Selecting tracks on the SD card or USB stick offers the same problems as the FM tuner: Without a display, try finding the selection you want when you have 4000 songs on the media. So I don't try to find anything specific, I just let it play what it feels like ;)The instructions are not very clear either. Again, you have to play with the unit to figure out how to use it. Once that happens, it's a nice little receiver/amp.But hey, for the price and audio performance, I can live with these small annoyances. I found that this is a nice little unit for a compact, high performance desktop computer application - it beats the heck out of computer speakers costing more than $150. See my review of the Denovo knockdown cabinet (PN# 300-7060) for how this little unit enables a very low cost, high performance desktop sound system.

Please give the minimum power requirement if using a solar panel, this will be at low volume use. Thanks.

Asked by: jfdkfjslj
Unfortunately there really is no way to define that . The only way you would be able to determine that would be to set the amp to your desired level, while driving your speakers and measure the current draw. There are too many variables otherwise.

Please give the power usage in watts  if using  solar panel what power is required? thanks.

Asked by: uiopu
The actual draw will depend on level but this power supply would have a maximum output of 36 watts.

My samsung smart tv does not have volume control on the pcm output. I have to get up to change volume.  Will the LP-A68 2x15W allow me to control the volume on my speakers?  Currently Lepai 2020 with dac. Any other thoughts for remote volume control?

Asked by: Brot
Yes this will allow you to control the speaker volume. Any small amplifier with a remote will work for this application.

I'd like to power on/off this amp by  24 hour timer. but online instruction state that "repeat" button on remote-controller to be pressed.  i wonder that i could set repeat mode as default when it turns on?  if not, is there the way i can do??

Asked by: Anonymous
I've used mine for a few years now and I don't think all the buttons on the remote actually do anything. If you were to connect this to a timer, every time you turned it on, it would begin playing whatever was last played in the last mode I believe. In other words if you had a USB thumbdrive AND an SD card both plugged in and you were last listening to the SD card when you turned it off, then it would play the SD card when you power it back up again. Also, if you just want to play one song, you could always just put that one song on a card and it will replay it over and over again I believe. These units are kind of hard to figure out, you have to play with them a bit to get the hang of it.

Does the media player happen to play any formats other than mp3? Uncompressed WAV/PCM for example?

Asked by: Rdunn
No, it will only play back MP3 files.
