Lepai LP-2020A+ Tripath Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Mini Amplifier without Power Supply is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it does.I bought this little amp so I could use a pair of Radio Shack Optimus 5 bookshelf speakers for my computer. I've been running it for about 6 months now. It works great. The sound is great with good definition of high bitrate MP3s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ImpressiveBought this amp for basically no reason, I had no idea what I would use it for - I just wanted see how it would sound.Purchased it as a combo with Dayton Audio B652 6-1/2" bookshelf speakers.Sound is crisp and distortion free up until just under half volume - which is pretty freaking loud for my application as desktop speakers. Prolonged listing from ~3' at half volume level would surely result in hearing damage. My amp came with a 12v dc @2amp power supply, I was reading somewhere that the new ones are shipping with a 3amp PSU - which might allow for higher volume levels without distortion. Added 2x 8" powered subwoofers for sub bass range - however, the Dayton Audio B652 paired with this amp hits a fantastic range I would guess as low as 40hz range.Anyhow, would I buy this product again? Yes!I plan on buying more for other projects. In closing: I am not saying this is the best amp available - I am saying this is the best amp you can buy for 26 bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than I hoped for.I am an audiophile who fell on hard times and then my amp blew. I had $25 to spend and decided on this little beauty. I'm running a pair of hand built TMM 5" speakers that are about mid efficiency (85-87db, hard to say as the drivers were hand made). This little amp pushes them just fine. Can I shake the windows without distortion? Not anymore, but what do you expect for $20. My speakers are built to have super controlled bass rather than lots of it so I can hear a "muddiness" in the lows but, again, $20. On the down side I think the glowing volume knob is trashy and I would have paid another $2 for a headphone jack. This company makes an $11 version that I plan to incorporate into some computer speakers. Looking forward to see what $11 sounds like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If you need some tiny speakers, this is an amp.I just got the Lepai LP-2020A+ to boost the sound from my iPhone into some speakers mounted in the headrest of my recliner. As long as you don't turn up the volume on some combination of the source or the amp too much, it works. Crank it too much and the sound cuts out. Can't get excited about the performance. It's a 20 watt amp. Perhaps I need better speakers, or as another poster suggested, a better power supply.A real improvement would be more universal connections. The outputs are the type that clamp down on bare wire. (Whatever that's called) Who wants to strip wire, or depend on stripped wires? A 3.5mm output, like the input, would be perfect. Even RCA outputs would be a huge improvement. An even better improvement would be to have those connections on the front of the body.Anyway, it works. Far from perfect, but it works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great productMy intention was to get better sound when listening to music on my pc.After listening to several computer speakers I just couldn't find any that impressed me so I decided to put together my own system. I followed the advise of another reviewer and bought this amp and the 12v 5a power supply separately. I paired this set up with a pair of Dayton Audio B652's and I am blown away.....

I've hooked the amp up to a wi-fi router and plan to leave it turned on. How man watts will it draw when not in use?

Asked by: nsmart
While I don't have an exact figure for you, this amplifier will draw less power than a normal clock radio when in standby mode.

This just arrived today, and played nicely for ten minutes. But then it started just blinking steadily with no output. The weird thing is the green light on the power supply is pulsing too at the same time. Even if nothing plugged in, blinks…. What to do?

I am running:  2 x Dayton Audio RS52AN-8 2" Dome Midrange 2 x Dayton Audio DA175-8 7" Aluminum Cone Woofer 1 x Goldwood GT-302/S 1/2" Mylar Dome Tweeter Shielded Is the Lepai 2020+ a well suited amp for these speakers? Or need +power?

Asked by: Big_Al
This will power a pair of those without a problem, but whether you will need more power is determined by how loud you want them to play. At low levels you shouldn't need more power, but if you ever want to turn them up a bit we would recommend more power.
