Lepai Digital 2x15W Mini Amplifier with Remote USB MP3 Media Card FM
Lepai Digital 2x15W Mini Amplifier with Remote USB MP3 Media Card FM is rated 3.9444 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from ALL features work wellHave 2 of these 6mos and 1 45W x 4 and 1 2.1 chan. All work very well and have plenty of power even with 8ohm speaker sets. Will play MP3 and wave from flash drives SD cards and MP3 players. I use all these and more on a whole house distributiton (line level) network (8 locations at present) These are not equal to the true audiophile systems on the network, but mighty close. An issue is setting the volume on the unit to allow the remote to have "room" to be adjusteed to higher volume levels. The master volume on the unit limits the level. If powered off by remote, it must be powered up with the remote. I plan to buy many more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little Amp with many play back featuresThis amp has provided my R&D project to reach higher levels of achievement. Despite the power output is only 15W per channel the audio is clear and with proper tuning provides an all around solid sound. I was certainly surprised from it's performance considering it's a digital amp.I am operating Dayton Audio's, Audio exciters (Dayton Audio DAEX58FP) with this amp and it has met my expectations with continuing my project with this amp. The amp also has stellar audio play back options either from a standard SD card or a USB stick. It also has RCA inputs, which I haven't tried yet. This gives a simple way of providing extra options in on the go music capability. The FM radio tuning needs work, but I am not using it for FM reception or audio so I can't comment fully on that. The buttons feel good and are not loose as they seem to look cheap in the picture. The nobs are smooth and give good resolution in tuning. They don't feel loose or sloppy compared to the price. I was pleasantly surprised in the quality of the face of this amp. For a low budget amp it is defiantly worth the money for the use with memory type of music. The operations manual is completely written in Chinese and useless for anything that would require learning. As the front buttons are pretty much self explanatory so the manual isn't really needed. My use of the amp has been extensive since I received it. Playing music at full volume for 6 hours gives a slight raise in housing temperature, but not hot. Which tells me that it is efficient in heat dissipation and cooling. It even comes with an IR remote that works even at 25 feet. I can't complain about that. This amp will be my choice for my production project to come in the next few months. Thanks PE for distributing this great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The 21st Century Integrated AmpAs technology evolves, we lump features together, trying out various combinations in the eternal search for the best balance between value, flexibility, reliability and ease of use. This inexpensive and innovative unit yields tremendous bang for tiny bucks. By adding a cigarette-lighter power adapter, a couple of Outdoor-proof speakers and some zip cord, I quickly and inexpensively had a very flexible and usable music system for camping.I would like to have seen a pair of ΒΌ" TS jacks for the speakers, and an up-rated unit would have an LCD to identify the input in-use and to show what track is being played from the USB, but this thing is amazing for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Little AmpI bought this amp to build a powered monitor in a 40mm ammo box. It works quite nicely. The input sensitivity is slightly lower than expected, so if you are going to drive it from the headphone output of an iTouch/iPhone/IPad and want to drive it to full volume, you will need a preamp to boost the signal. The FM tuner is a nice surprise if you don't mind guessing what station you're listening to. Otherwise it's a nice small device that does the job. BTW, the outputs are not bridgeable, and you cannot wire the "-" sides together and run three wire L-Common-R.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely Hard to Beat for the PriceI have two of these and I'm 99% happy with them both. One is mounted on the crossbar of my Buell, the other is attached to a couple gator clamps so I can mount it in my canoe. On my Buell, I had to use filters to keep ignition noise from the unit and I also had to learn to turn them on before I put my helmet on as there is a seriously nasty, ear-breaking "pop" when the unit is turned on. In the canoe, they power a pair of 6" car speakers. There's never as much bass as I would like, but for the money, I can't seriously complain. Also, at $26 a pop, I'm not going to feel bad if either unit gets wet due to rain or paddle splash and gets ruined. I exclusively use the SD memory card input - the USB probably works, but I prefer the smaller SD cards. Most places I ride or paddle are not conducive to FM, so I've never really tested the radio feature.

power supply voltage?

Would a regulated 15V DC power supply be too much to power this amp safely?
Asked by: rodavis2
Since it comes with a 12V power supply, I would use that. The internal ICs, electrolytic capacitors, and transistors may or may not withstand 15V. To me it seems an unnecessary risk to try a higher voltage supply.

Could I power this amp with batteries?

I am trying to build a portable iPod speaker system. This would do the trick, however, I am trying to use some rechargeable batteries in series to power it to make it completely portable. I may be getting in over my head. Any ideas?
Asked by: Boyfromthenorth
Yes, as long as the sum voltage is a stable 12 volts DC it will work. 8 cells add to the correct voltage but it won't last long on a charge. You could parallel groups of 8 but if going to the cost and weight of that many batteries, look at PE's lead sealed batteries. They will last longer. Just balance the amp hours against the weight( how much are you carrying this device). Figure an approximate 2amp per hour draw times the time of use per charge. I am working on a similiar project and will use these lead sealed batteries. Have fun.

will ipod play

will only thumb drives play or can an ipod be attached
Asked by: jalng63
Almost certainly. These amps are designed to work with most MP3 players. I have no direct experience with this particular product, but others have reported success.

Wher can I find the remote code for this?

Asked by: mobrit
Excellent question:The codes these remotes use may be unpublished or even proprietary. If you want to use a programmable remote you might have to resort to the "learn" mode. This won't take long since there are few functions to teach.
