Lepai 4x25W Desktop Mini Amplifier with Remote USB MP3 Media Card FM

Lepai's LP-S60 is an all-in-one mini amplifier modeled off of a car stereo that features an FM tuner, on-board MP3 decoder with SD/MMC and USB input, stereo RCA audio in with pass-through stereo RCA audio out, an IR remote control, as well as power output for four speakers. The built-in LCD display shows you the mode of operation as well as displaying time elapsed for MP3 files and the radio station tuning frequency. Using the scan function via the faceplate or remote control places the LP-S60 into scan mode which autosaves radio stations into one of five locations for quick selection.

Front mounted treble, bass, and volume controls, as well as a four function EQ (accessible via the remote control or the volume knob), allow you to dial in the sound to match your taste and get the most out of your speakers. A wide input voltage range of 9 to 14.4 VDC allows the LP-S60 to be used in automotive or mobile applications. Included with the amplifier are: an IR remote control, a 12 VDC, 4A power supply, and a 16" long FM antenna. A removable trim ring is included for flush mounting applications. The faceplate mounted stereo 3.5 mm auxiliary input jack offers quick MP3 player and smartphone connection.

Lepai 4x25W Desktop Mini Amplifier with Remote USB MP3 Media Card FM
Lepai 4x25W Desktop Mini Amplifier with Remote USB MP3 Media Card FM is rated 3.9286 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good buy for the price rangeI'm using this Amp for a Computer mod project, and it and in came handy for this project. This Amp is driving two midrange, a tweeter, and 5 inch woofer. It's a work in progress so far. The remote is weak, and I trying to clone it a universal remote before it craps out, not much success. Lepai is not cosumer friendly, and the instruction's not in English are a prime example. Who else is buying these amps but us ?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Amp for its Price!Works great with very little distorsion. The volume knob is a little hard to press down on but it still works. I wish the light went off when you turn it off. Does what I need it to and works well and looks great. The instructions are in Chinese I assume but it's pretty self-explanitory to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great, Very Convenient PackageBought this for a client to use for background music in his jewelry store. Played with it a little first. It worked great for me, including the remote. I did notice that you had topoint it directly at the player and have the remote pretty much at a 90 degree angle tothe player. I was able to use the remote from at least 15 feet away. It has good sound and will push somewhat inefficient (85db 1w/1m) speakers to a satisfying volume.Much louder than needed for background music. With 4 channels he can add outdoorspeakers later if he chooses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nifty little amplifierThe price is unbeatable. yes, the instruction manual is in Chinese (as I read in other reviews) but I've been able to figure out fairly well how to operate the controls. It provides very good sound in my cabin at the ranch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little radio.Just bought one of these little radios and I like it. The instructions come in Chinese and are worthless. It took a few minutes to figure out how it all works but once I did it was not hard to operate. Sounds nice and plays well. Its no rock concert, but hey, I just wanted some back ground tunes in my garage. The remote however doesn't have much range and for me is not going to be used because of this. I did what another here suggested and got a Di-pole antenna for it to improve the reception. I do not like how it defaults after a power failure, the volume defaults at a higher volume than I would like to see but hey maybe I am just getting old.

can i power this with a car battery and a fuse

just bought this and it is really cool but it hums like crazy even at half volume i think its in the power supply i want to make a boombox and run a small 12 volt battery if it draws 5 amps should i run a 5 amp fuse thanks
Asked by: footsco
The short answer is yes. However, be aware that batteries with less than a capability of a 5 amp load will probably drain fairly quickly. A car battery or power system (think tailgating) should work just fine. And yes you should run at least a 5 amp fuse. Anything less will blow out with extended use or continuous loud volumes. You could probably get away with a 10 amp fuse.

can the FM antenna wire be extended for better reception?

the FM antenna is just an ~12" long wire with a RCA plug, will extending the antenna wire increase the units reception? if so is there a certain length that would be better than another?
Asked by: Axel
The "antenna" provided with this receiver is not very sensitive due to short length. For better reception order PE part #210-020 (dipole fm antenna) and solder an RCA connector to the end. Place antenna up along your ceiling for best reception.

Does the volume control affect the RCA low level output?

Asked by: Doyne5
I know what everyone else is saying but, Yes there is volume control over the low level outputs. I own two of these. I was testing with one of them and I hooked up the low level output to the input on my computer. I did not hook up any speakers to this amp because my computer has its own speakers. I just wanted a way to listen to the fm radio through my computer. The volume on this amp would change the volume of the fm coming through the computer. Just to be certain I unhooked it from the computer and hooked up a set of pyle 3 inch cube (Part Number 310-2004) to the speaker outputs and a dayton sub 800 (Part Number 300-627) to the low level outputs. The volume definitely has control over the low level outputs. The sub responded to the volume control at the same level as the speakers.

Do you have replacement remote controls for these units?

Asked by: traderc
I believe the Lepaii #320-350 will work with the unit and sells for less than $20.00.Be sure to ask about this when you call to order the Lepai amp.

Can I Parallel Outputs of One Channel

Can I parallel the outputs of one channel if I need more power to drive a single speaker on that channel?
Asked by: K7VC
This Lepai is stable down to two (2) puns. I never like to unbalance an amp so my answer is yes you can but I would prefer to see you parallel two channels. 8 ohm paralleled with 8 puns equals 4 ohms and 4 paralleled equals 2 puns. Do not go less.
