Lanzar OPTI6PM 6.5" OptiDrive 400 Watt High Performance Midbass Speaker
I bought a set of these for replacements in my daughter's car. When I removed the old ones, I found that they are 2 Ohm. If I drop a 4 ohm resistor across the terminals to get close to the correct load on the amp, how much will it affect sonic quality?
It will actually not change what you get out of these and it will work the amp twice as hard. the resistor will just burn up the extra power as heat. It will not hurt to connect a 4 ohm load to the amp and it will just run cooler

since some of the questions posted here have been since the invention of the wheel, what kind of specs have come across the wire. box size, ported, vented or sealed or other T/S specs that might be helpfull
The measured T/S parameters for this driver are below.Re: 3.029 ohmsFs: 66.62 HzQts: .652Qes: .706Qms: 8.599Le: .409 mHMms: 11.71 gVas: .4718 cu ftI would recommend sealed or free air applications only. A volume of 0.7 cubic feet will provide an F3 of 70 Hz and a high pass is recommended.

How is mounting depth measured? Eyeballing this speaker, it looks much deeper than 2.95".
After verification, this driver is 3" deep from the back of the mounting frame, 3-1/4" from the top of the frame.

cabinet cu.ft. for 2-way home setup and x-over
i would like to use these mid bass drivers for 2-way system. i cant figure out what size cabinet would sound good with it being a mid bass driver maybe matched with a beston horn loaded ribbon tweeter that has sensitivity of 92db but at 6ohms i am not sure how to make a x-over to be compatible with a 3ohm driver at 92db and a 6ohm tweeter at 92db. can a pre maid x-over work or do i need to build a custom x-over
Unfortunately we cannot model a woofer without the proper T/S specs. Once this woofer comes in stock we will be able to measure it and provide box volumes.

I suppose at this price, they are priced each? Also this is a mid woofer, not a coaxial speaker... no tweeter, only up to 7k response.
Yes, this product is sold individually, not in pairs.
