Lanzar MX8124 8"x12" 1000 Watt 4-Way Coaxial Speaker Pair
Lanzar MX8124 8"x12" 1000 Watt 4-Way Coaxial Speaker Pair is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the Tang Band 264-837I ordered these drivers based on the discontinued Tang Band version 264-837, thinking they would have the same specs for the enclosure I designed. I intended to remove the mid/tweeter assembly and use them as woofers. Since auto sound vendors do not provide Thiele-Small specs I did not know them until I received the drivers and performed measurements. I found the Qts and Fs to be much higher than the Tang Band and not suitable to the vented enclosure I had designed. They no doubt would perform well in the lossy environment of an automobile and I found the mid/treble to be well balanced with the woofer. Since TS specs are not provided by the auto sound industry it is evident that the science of loudspeakers is not taken into consideration by the auto DIY crowd.

Lanzar MX8124 8"x12" 1000 Watt 4-Way Coaxial Speaker Pair

What is the sensitivity rating for these speakers?

The sensitivity is very useful to help determine how loud the speakers will be and I have been unable to find a rating on these speakers. Is there a reason that Lanzar doesn't seem to list that specification? Thanks
Asked by: 79MKII
I did a quick search and it's not specified, an educated guess would be about 85-87 dB @w/m as most of their products in this range are rated at this range. I would try emailing the manufacturer as it does not seem to be listed even in their own "manual" download.

Any PE or Customer Testing done on these? SPL/Fs/actual sound quality?

i was wondering how these might work as 2 wired = 8OHM (in a sealed cabinet x2 for Home Audio.
Asked by: solarplexbr
Unfortunately, we are unable to perform independent testing on the various products we carry at this time. I was also unable to find any detailed specifications; it is somewhat uncommon for manufacturers to publish T/S parameters for speakers intended for mobile audio applications, as they're designed to perform well in a rear deck or car door, and not for any particular enclosure, per se. It is not unheard of to utilize mobile audio speakers in the manner you describe, and I would encourage you to try it if it appeals to you.

why is this under subwoofers?

if this is a 4 way full range 8x12 why is it under the subwoofer section?
Asked by: DexT
It's a mistake.
