Product Details

Kicker CVX152 CompVX Series 15" DVC Subwoofer 2+2 Ohm

Kicker® takes the maximum performance and power of their patented square-woofer technology and packs it into the round CompVX™ Series subwoofers, creating the most technologically advanced round subwoofer available. CompVX subwoofers are the best-sounding, deepest-bass-producing round subwoofers that Kicker has ever offered.

The CVX152 15" dual 2 ohm subwoofer uses all of the exclusive Solo-Baric® L7 design and performance features. One-piece SoloKon™ cone with total back bracing for ultra rigidity, high temperature dual voice coils and a solid pole piece to subdue harmful heat, and a T-cut top plate for a wider magnetic field, stronger bass response, and better sound—it all comes together to form a super-reliable motor structure found only in a Kicker subwoofer.

Inside the subwoofer, a poly-cotton, semi-progressive-roll spider supports substantial excursion for the loudest bass possible. Externally, a ribbed Santoprene® surround allows for maximum excursion while resisting wear. CompVX’s basket is cast aluminum with motor-cooling perimeter venting and spring-loaded terminals that can accept up to 10 AWG wire.

The CompVX Series is available in 10", 12", and 15" sizes, and comes in 2 + 2 ohm or 4 + 4 ohm DVC configurations.

Is it suitable for folded horn application and will it perform well?.

Asked by: jgoff
My local car audio shop refers to slot ported boxes as folded horns. If by folded horn you mean slot port than yes it will perform well. A box volume of somewhere between 3-5 ft^3 with a tune of around 35-40hz (3ft^3 for tighter bass with a little more of a flat response and 5ft^3 for deep booming bass). If by folded horn you actually mean folded horn that has a port that starts small and gradually gets wider I would say that you should probably get something optimized for pro audio not car audio since folded horns don't really work well in cars. With that in mind I'm assuming that since this sub is optimized for cars it would not perform as well in pro audio settings such as folded horns.PS I'm not saying that you don't know the difference, but most people don't and some of them might read this. Hope this helps.
