Product Details

Individual Red Green Blue SMD 3528 LEDs 5m Tape Lighting Strip w/24-Key Controller and Remote

These RGB LED tape strips are built with 9 bright, single-color 3528 surface mount LEDs (3 red, 3 green, and 3 blue) per every 6" for the great color density, 300 total. These strips are great for use as indoor strip lighting or illuminating a display case. Connecting multiple strips together is made quick and simple with solder tabs on the end of each segment. Aggressive adhesive to affixed to the back of the strip for permanent mounting.

Each strip is marked with cut lines for creating a custom length strip, or up to 32 6" strip segments with nine LEDs per section (3 red, 3 green, and 3 blue). Each section features four solder points (voltage +, green, red, and blue) to create many different color combinations and for easy daisy-chaining.

To facilitate ease of use, voltage dropping resistors are built-in. Simply connect a 12 VDC power supply (up to a 12 VDC, 6A power supply is recommended and sold separately) to the included 24-key remote control LED control unit for color control or to create amazing effects. Each strip is pre-terminated with a 4" pigtail for connection to an LED control unit (sold separately). CE and RoHS compliant. IP65 waterproof-rated for outdoor use.

Note: Due to the IR operation of this product, it is possible for remote controls of other devices to inadvertently change LED settings.

Individual Red Green Blue SMD 3528 LEDs 5m Tape Lighting Strip w/24-Key Controller and Remote
Individual Red Green Blue SMD 3528 LEDs 5m Tape Lighting Strip w/24-Key Controller and Remote is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Under cabinet lighting!I put these strips under the kitchen cabinets and they work great. I just leave them set on white all the time but I suppose I could use the remote for mood lighting. I cleaned the surfaces with rubbing alcohol first and I was careful to secure the ends so they couldn't start to peel. After a week, they're still stuck tight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from LED strip, Part 2I first tried the DCLE12116 strip. It failed spectacularly after several weeks. Missing segments, missing colors... a total train wreck. (Should have returned it for refund... and may yet but the trail is pretty cold.) So I tried this version - separate R,G, and B LEDs. So far its decent, not perfect but decent. Over a 11' run, I have one segment (6") of red LEDs that are out. The strip is fairly well hard wired into the application and the missing reds are not noticeable most of the time or I'd return the spool and try again. That said, its a pretty cool way to add color lighting effects.

Hi i just got my LEDS in the mail today and want to use them in my truck and i already know where im getting the power from but what plug do i need to power it because i cant find anything similar, PLEASE HELP

Asked by: BIGED28
In order to wire this to a battery or power source you can use a DC plug with a wire lead like the one below.http://www.parts-express.com/21mm-x-55mm-x-112mm-dc-plug-with-6-ft-cord--090-489

I love your led light strips! If I want to cut strips to lay side by side, what do I use to connect one end to the next? Thank you!

Asked by: Lynzi
These will have to be spliced with a 4 conductor wire soldered to each end. The gauge of the wire can be fairly small, 18-22 gauge is recommended.

Asked by: bigdeal
Yes these RGB strips will shine white although it is not as true as a solid white LED strip.

Power supply clarification needed

Sorry for the redundacy here, but a previous question answered by a PE staff member recommends 1 amp of power per 1 meter of light strip. Another person answered my question saying a 2 amp power supply is recommended for this 5 meter string. So my question is, will a 5 amp supply make the lights any brighter than a 2 amp supply for the same 5 meter string? I thought brightness with LEDs was a function of voltage, not amperage. Please clarify - if the brightness is the same, I'll buy a 2 amp supply.
Asked by: KBActive
This string will light up with 2 amps, but it will experience some "voltage sag"--especially when all the LEDs are "on". That's what happens with long speaker cables and amplifiers driving too low an impedance load. These are cool little lights--but feed them well and they will be happy.

Power supply and effects

Two part question; 1) the pic shows a power supply, but from what I read, it is not included. Can a PE staff member please recommend an appropriate supply that you have in stock? 2) The controller shows "Flash, Strobe, Fade, and Smooth". Do all 4 effects on the controller function with these lights? Thanks in advance for answers.
Asked by: KBActive
The white box in the pic is not a power supply, that is the control box. The power supply I would recommend is below. Yes those functions will work with these lights.

Do you sell connectors for splicing together cut strips (other vendors have them) or should I just solder them?

Asked by: TIlardi
Well, these strips do have a M/F connector on them. Soldering them is one way to make a longer strip--but I always fold one under the next as a looped-together setup so you always have the option of a longer strip. In the field, it's always nice to have options.
