HiVi SD1.1-A 1" Textile Dome Tweeter
HiVi SD1.1-A 1" Textile Dome Tweeter is rated 4.697 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very very clear, a little harsh.I bought these tweeters as replacements for some very old three-way Yamahas I had laying around. They were a vast improvement over the stock tweeter that came out about thirty years ago. My product does sound a little bit harsh, the highs are a tad too strong. This might be a resistance issue, however, I have not looked too much into it. A little EQ adjustment and they're dreamy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice tweeter!I've had these for 6 months now, and am very pleased with them. I paid $13 each for them, and they are well worth it, even if they were double that! The size and build quality is impressive, and the sound is very nice. These are well behaved down to about 1khz, though I wouldn't cross them any lower than 2.2khz second order. I currently am using them in a TWW configuration crossed over second order at 3khz. I found that any lower and they have a certain hotness that I wasn't fond of. These really are hot for their spl rating, so don't be afraid to use some padding! I have measured 6 of these total, and they are all very close to each other in response, all have a nice bump from 10-20k, which makes for clean, clear highs that aren't harsh at all, and fall off fairly steeply right around 20k.Also, they look super sweet! All in all, a great tweeter for under $20.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very clearAs another review stated these ooze quality ,these tweeters weigh more than my tymphany mids but sound good together very happy with them so far .l've got em crossed over at 2800 htz 12db per octive ,the low resonate freq. is very easy to work with . Next to try are the 1.3 ribbons. Thanks PE for that daily deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome build quality at any price and it's only $13?My 3rd purchase of this tweeter, worked well for my front speakers so I picked this one up for my center channel. Crossover can be tricky, to get it to play down to it's 2khz rating you need to use a 12db/oct crossover. a 6.2uf cap with a .2mh inductor seems to do a good job counter acting the 12 ohm impedance peak @ 1,200hz.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the money!I just finished a ported two way system using these tweeters and HiVi B4Ns. They sound great. I had to use Lpads because of the difference in spl but overall I'm very satisfied. a very good tweeter for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Excellent tweeter for the money!Used two of these to replace the old paper cone tweeters in my custom home-theater enclosures. The HF response is vastly better than the originals (which I actually thought sounded pretty good [till now]). Thanks PE, my home theater now sounds fantastic!!!

What would be a good capacitor to block the bass somewhere around 4khz?

Asked by: traincole
If you only want to use a capacitor I would recommend a higher crossover point of no less than 6kHz. If you wanted to add a coil and make it a second order, you could get away with 4kHz. With just a cap, I would recommend a 3.5 uF. For a second order I would recommend a 0.5 mH coil and 7 uF cap.

Can we get ZMA and FRD data for these?

I know your trying to get this data available, will they be available for this driver soon?
Asked by: Commander Ferret
http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=26Not all the data is there, but it's a start. Speaker seems to be very loud for it's 91db/w rating. Built like a tank I think the 15W rating is WAY conservative.
