Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, effective guidesI recently installed these guides and used 6 per frame (14" X 31" Face).Simple, inexpensive spade bits worked great for clean, professional appearance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Grill GuidesI've actually had these in a set of grills for about four years. Just made a cross country move and the movers decided to do some damage to my speakers, unfortunately, including shearing off a number of my grill guides. :( So these are replacements for my originals. They are perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They work better with experience.Once installed, I had no problems. It did take some work installing them. I used twist drills.Even though I measured and then drilled pilot holes, the drill bit moved because I was intersecting mdf and plywood. I then made some templates from scrap wood. This worked much better, but I can be very picky at times. My next plan was to lightly attach the unclothed frame to the speaker. I then drilled pilot holes, according to my measurements, through the frame and into, not through, the baffle. Since the ball guides have a smaller diameter than the sockets, I drilled completely through the frame and into the baffle with the socket matching drill bit. Use some sort of depth guide to make sure that you do not fully penetrate the baffle. You may want to glue blocks on the rear of the baffle to give you some room. You may now remove the frame, paint it black, install the balls, and apply the grill cloth. Go back to the baffle and touch up any marks. Drill out the socket holes to the correct diameter and depth. Install the sockets. On the inside of the grill frame, indicate the directionality of the grill if it fits better when in the original position. This method will not work with spade bits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good valueI used over 250 of these in building my home theater - for attaching speaker grills and also for removable fabric covered wall panels - and they have worked well. I had a couple snap off, but out of that many, that's not too bad. The "barbs" on the base of the ball part hold well as long as you drill a fairly straight hole (I used spade bits and a drill press). Once they snap in, they hold pretty well, no rattle, solid fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't buy these!I'm sure these will function fine once I get them installed. The glaring flaw with this product is the drill bit size required for installation. You will spend $30.00 on the 7/16" and 9/16" drill bits required. Not worth it!! Buy another product.

whats the height of the thread part?

do you have 9mm?
Asked by: karenzhao
The thread part of the ball is 11.4mm long and the socket is 11mm long. The only other option we have like this are the standard guides which are below. They are about 6mm deep.
