Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was What I neededI needed this unit to use with my cctv unit to send to my second LCD TV to get a larger picture. Once installed it made the connection immediately with a better picture quality than the smaller LCD TV I would highly recommend unit to anyone that asked me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from works "ok"It does split the signal. But in my case - splitting a DTV Sat box signal - there is a loss of sync most time on the receiving sets when changing stations. When the Sat box was connected direct to one set it never did this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with Windows 7 Media CenterI bought this device to deal with a Windows 7 Media Center issue. Media Center is very, very picky about playing protected content, whether from a DVD, Blu-ray disc or even digital cable. I have two 1080P HDCP compliant displays (projector & small monitor) connected to my video card in a mirrored configuration, but Media Center wouldn't play protected content unless BOTH displays are turned on. Worse yet, it displays inappropriate error messages (e.g., "video tuner not available"). With this device I can turn on whichever display I wish and protected content plays perfectly. BTW, I've tried other HDMI switches, splitter, and matrices, but this is the only one that has worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little box - works as advertisedI am using this splitter along with an Easy IR Extender kit (part no. 180-646) to distribute cable TV from STB to 2 TV's in separate rooms. Total HDMI connection length from splitter to most distant TV is 30 ft. I can control the STB using IR remotes from either TV location, and it all works great!

HDMI 1-Input 2-Output 3D Splitter IR Compatible

I want to split the output of a 3D BD player into 1) a 3D display and 2) an 7.1 AV Receiver. Will this cause any issues with the 3D video output?

Asked by: luckygeo
If you have a 3D BD Player - all you have to do is connect HDMI to your (TV) and take optical out to your receiver. You can also feed HDMI to the receiver and HDMI out to the TV. Of course the splitter would work - the choice you make really depends on your specific configuration.

How does windows7 interperet this type of device?

My question is if I wanted to use this for a laptop, what are the possibilities of running hdmi from my laptop to the splitter, running two hdmi cables out to 2 separate displays. Will this "clone" the primary display and show the same picture on both displays (i.e. windows7 may only detect 1 display and forcibly clone the picture) or, are there more capabilities built into the device so that windows7 will actually detect 2 separate displays and allow an "extended" dual display configuration?
Asked by: taustin81
It doesn't matter what device you connect this to. Whatever signal is delivered, the same signal is split to drive to monitors. Windows 7 will have no effect on the operation.

will this work with a NextGen ATH-433 RF Remote Control Extender

Asked by: jerseyjim
I'm not sure I understand the question, but the NextGen unit would not be required with this product. You would simply order the extender kit referenced below to facilitate IR communication to your components.

Is it possible to run both a 1080 and 720 TV from a splitter like this? If not, what is required to do this? Thanks!

Asked by: Bobr
Yes. The splitter will carry a signal up to 1080p resolution, and the panels will only display what they're capable of displaying. The splitter will not change the resolution of anything along the line, it simply redistributes whatever is fed into it.
