Product Details

Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 50 Hz High Pass RCA

What is an FMOD™? The FMOD™ is an active crossover simulator. It is better than a much more expensive electronic crossover that requires power to operate. FMODs™ are packaged in pairs and can be combined with other FMODs™ to obtain bandpass ranges or with other types of crossovers to change the slope and crossover frequency point. FMODs™ feature a 12 dB per octave crossover slope and are compatible with all RCA type input amps...simply place the FMOD™ in-line with the patch cable running between the source (head unit) and the amplifier. 24kt gold over brass construction, 10 volts maximum RMS input. One-year manfacturer warranty. Made in the U.S.A.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great in my carI have a small woofer (6.5") in my car and my amp can't roll of frequencies below 50 hz as I need for my small woofer. I used these in-line to the amp and they do the job perfectly. Keeps my speaker happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So simpleThese FMOD's are so simple to use. Just plug them into the amp and you are done. They provide a low cost crossover that works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well for filtering out lowsThis works well as a cheap alternative to an active crossover. I'm using it on a nearfield sub (Outlaw audio LFM-1) to filter out lows (similar to the HSU MBM-12 mid bass module), and using my other two subs for the really deep stuff. In this application it does well. If you already have an extra sub, this is a good alternative to the MBM-12 for less $; if for no other reason than you can try this concept out before purchasing the MBM-12 - which is designed for the mid bass range specifically. I tried putting two of these FMODS together for a 24 db/oct roll off, but then my sub didn't seem to get enough voltage to trigger the auto-on feature. A single one works fine in my application however.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good productwhen i read specs on this item i didn't think it would work. it works; the crossover part of the plug-in makes it limited without adjustable ranges. if you need to filter out highs it will, if you have an integrated stereo amplifier or mono without a sub woofer line-in this will work.

Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 50 Hz High Pass RCA

Would I stack two of these to create a 24dB/octave slope to match the crossover in my sub?

Want to high-pass my speakers in a two-channel setup, and am thinking these would work between preamp and amps.
Asked by: SR71
This is a Passive Line Level Crossover (PLLXO). Anything over 12/db will create large voltage loss, and your slope will not be very true to 24/db. The Q is very low. To get that slope you will either need an active crossover, or an LC filter.
