Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 2,500 Hz Low Pass RCA

What is an FMOD™? The FMOD™ is an active crossover simulator. It is better than a much more expensive electronic crossover that requires power to operate. FMODs™ are packaged in pairs and can be combined with other FMODs™ to obtain bandpass ranges or with other types of crossovers to change the slope and crossover frequency point. FMODs™ feature a 12 dB per octave crossover slope and are compatible with all RCA type input amps...simply place the FMOD™ in-line with the patch cable running between the source (head unit) and the amplifier. 24kt gold over brass construction, 10 volts maximum RMS input. One-year manfacturer warranty. Made in the U.S.A.

Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 2,500 Hz Low Pass RCA
Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 2,500 Hz Low Pass RCA is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from To the reviewer aboveSince the outside of Fmods are uninsulated metal the alternator noise could be from one touching a metal part of your car and creating a ground loop problem. Try wrapping them in electrical tape and see if your noise problems go away.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea, but noisy. This is an extrememly useful and versitile product. However, my application happens to be in the car. I am using the 2.5k low pass and high pass to do a quick and dirty active setup and scrap my passive networks. Everything was great until I turned the engine over and litened to the most aweful and loud alternator noise I have ever heard. I am sure they would work great in the HT/Pro audio realm. In the car? Not so great. I am thinking of line drivers now to put more voltage behind them but it probably won't completely aleviate the problem.
