Product Details

Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 150 Hz High Pass RCA

What is an FMOD™? The FMOD™ is an active crossover simulator. It is better than a much more expensive electronic crossover that requires power to operate. FMODs™ are packaged in pairs and can be combined with other FMODs™ to obtain bandpass ranges or with other types of crossovers to change the slope and crossover frequency point. FMODs™ feature a 12 dB per octave crossover slope and are compatible with all RCA type input amps...simply place the FMOD™ in-line with the patch cable running between the source (head unit) and the amplifier. 24kt gold over brass construction, 10 volts maximum RMS input. One-year manfacturer warranty. Made in the U.S.A.

Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 150 Hz High Pass RCA
FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 150 Hz High Pass RCA is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It WorksI purchased a pair for my Desktop HT. I put these inline with my Logitech boombox Si715i and split off to 2 8" Dayton self-powered subs. It removed the low bass from the boombox that's working like a soundbar. The boombox sits perfectly underneath my 20" LED-LCD monitor powered by a 7" Asus netbook. Put in a movie, close the lid and I'm off to watching and listening with a big smile....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I buy a lot of these.I buy a lot of these. I always figure if I buy something more than once I'm voting with my wallet. I use these to get rid of the bass going to the amps that I use to feed my mid and highs.

Harrison Labs FMOD Inline Crossover Pair 150 Hz High Pass RCA

Doesn't the crossover point depend on the amplifier's input impedance?

It seems to me that the frequency response of any passive circuit (without massive attenuation) is going to have to depend on the input impedance of the amplifier... is the '150 Hz' above tuned for some specific average amplifier? Anyone know?
Asked by: Zell
Hi, Zell. Yes, the FMODs are designed to work with most amps, but standardized to be used with 22k ohm impedance. On the high pass side, you can expect a 25% frequency increase on a 10k ohm impedance, and a 25% frequency decrease on 47k ohms. On their low pass FMODs, the same impedance levels apply, but the crossover frequencies are only modified by 8%.
