Ground Loop Isolator BNC-M to BNC-F

Video interference caused by ground loops can waste hours of troubleshooting time and wreak havoc on your CCTV system. Hum bars called herringbone (diagonal lines on the screen) and AC beat (a wide, barely visible bar that rolls from the bottom to top of the screen) are the most common visible evidence of a ground loop. Ground loop isolators break the ground between points of the system potentially eliminating or lessening the affects of the ground loop. The isolator is installed between the camera or video source and the DVR, switch or matrix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will fix your linesI had horizontal lines on several of my video channels fed via CAT5. Installing these at the DVR eliminated the lines 100% They do not affect video quality at all, as some will tell you.On three cameras, additional GLIs were installed at the camera since they were mounted on a metal building and grounded to the building. In the future, I will be installing GLIs on all video feeds to avoid potential problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bars in VideoWe were getting the typical scrolling lines in the video, typical of a AC ground loop. We installed the isolators at both the camera and the DVR. The bars in the video were eliminated !

Ground Loop Isolator BNC-M to BNC-F

Is the impedance of this device compatible with composite video? I believe that is nominally 75 ohms. I would snip the BNC connectors off and replace with RCA connectors. Looks pretty straight forward. Any problem with this adaption?

Asked by: Jauwn
You could exchange the BNCs for RCAs and get the same result.
