Goldwood GW-8004 8" Coaxial Speaker
Goldwood GW-8004 8" Coaxial Speaker is rated 4.4286 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from well designedContacted the manufacturer of my expensive stone landscape speakers to replace speaker with " lifetime replacement drivers". I was told I had the privilege of paying 180.00 ea for them!! Purchased yours, exactly the same except yours has a larger magnet. Thanks for getting me back in business for a fraction of their price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from punchy soundI found the overall diameter is smaller than my previous 8" speaker I had it replace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best bang for the buckI built my first cabinet using this driver and one of PE recommendations for box size and venting. I used a 1.6 cubic foot box with a 5" long 3" diameter flared port. These sound better than my $400 pair of Paradigms. Can't wait to plan a more elaborate speaker system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice 8" CoaxialI built a custom enclousure for this coaxial and the sound is awesome for a 35 watt RMS 8" Coaxial i bought at least 3 dozen i will keep buying them untill goldwood goe's out of buisness a great product for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great productUsed as replacement ceiling speakers in customer home and found bass enhanced greatly as well as cleaner, crisper highs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cursury evaluation87 dB W/M is rather low. look at a Altec 409B. that low sens costs$ for power amplifier output. But then power amps are cheaper now, i guess. Still havn't figured out how they get 1000 watts from 12VDc in a amp with virtually no heatsink and 16 Ga wireing!!

im looking into buying a few of these for ht use and was wondering what box dimensions would you recomend using 3/4 inch mdf? or if these would be any good for ht use?

Asked by: ernj
These will work well for HT use. Assuming there will be a separate powered subwoofer, these will work well in anything from 1.0-2.4 cubic feet sealed.

in a 6 cubic ft sealed inclosure, 8 of theses drivers in a 6-cuft sealed inclosure , what kind of low freq response could youexpect to get .
Asked by: sammy malone
Eight of these in 6 cubic feet sealed provide an F3 of 63 Hz.

I need the QTC for my online calculator but that specification is never listed along with the other specifications , why is that ?

Asked by: sammy malone
The Qtc is not a speaker parameter, it is a box parameter. This is generally a number the program gives you based on the (sealed only) box volume and the speaker T/S parameters.

What is the xmax I don't see it in the specifications, Also a reviewer here said PE recomended a cab 1.6 cuft but failed to mention what the fs was .

Asked by: sammy malone
Whenever the small parameters are not on the catalog page, I call PE Tech.

What is the center to center distance for an 8" Standard EIA 4 hole mounting configuration?

I have old antique pyramid shaped speaker enclosures with 4 studs on a 7-3/4" diameter bolt circle. Will these speakers fit over this pattern?
Asked by:
Yes, the common spacing EIA standard for an 8" speaker is 7 3/4" o/c. This speaker should be a direct fit.
