Goldwood GW-212/8 12" OEM Woofer 8 Ohm
8ohm or 4ohm Recommendation. MY 1ST QUESTION WAS MISUNDERSTOOD. Between GW-212/8 12" or GW-212/4 12" (Sealed 3 Way with (1) 12'' for L spkr and (1) 12" for R spkr); Yamaha Z9 AMP (no issues with 4 ohms) Which speaker would you recommend and why?
If the amplifier has no issues with a 4 ohm load this would be my recommendation. You get a slight advantage in sensitivity with a 4 ohm load which means louder with less power. Make sure the crossover is designed to work with a 4 ohm load.

8ohm or 4ohm Recommendation. Between (2) GW-212/8 12" or (2) GW-212/4 12" (for a Sealed 3 Way); with a Yamaha Z9 AMP (so no issues with 4 ohms) Which speaker would you recommend and why?
In most cases you want to wire two woofers in parallel when possible do boost the sensitivity. As long as the mid and tweeter will keep up with the output, this is the way to go.

would this replace a speaker that is mounted with only 4 holes/screws?
That would work if the four holes you have align up with the holes in the speaker. Why not just drill holes for the speaker. That would prevent you from bending the basket so easily.

Response data for BassBox?
Hello,I'm just wondering, is there any file I could use to import this driver's freq. response to bassbox? It just keeps giving me response up to 20khz (-18Db), whereas the graph says it should be around -40Db...Thanks!
The Bassbox graph is simply a modeled graph which means anything above 300 Hz is meaningless for the program. The reason it is showing flat response up to 20k is simply because there is no Le applied to the driver parameters, this figure is also not important in caluculating enclosure size. If you type if the Le figure of "2 (mH)" for example you will see the upper end of the driver roll off.

mounting hole dimensions
I read in existing q & a that the mounting screws are 11.5" across the cone. The listed hole cutout is 11". That seems kinda close to me. My current cut-out (sony ss-530) is 10.5". Will this fit, or do I need the entire 11 inches? Thanks
It is always best to use the manufacturers specificatiions to prevent unseen consequences.

sealed or ported box?
Sealed, this woofer has a really high Qts 1.44 that means your get a large peak in the bass response, porting it only make it worse. Try to stay above 1.5 cu ft internal with this one. At 1.5 cu ft your looking at a 7dB peak at 75 Hz, 3 cu ft and its a 6 dB peak at 60 Hz. In an infinite baffle configuration it will still have a 3.5 dB peak at 45hz.
