Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great WooferI decided to use these under the rear deck of my 2010 Impala after seeing the high Qts and that they would play up to 4000 Hz. I used a two way Aura car audio crossover along with a Vifa BC25SC06-04 1" Textile Dome Tweeter. These are crossed at 3000 Hz. I cut out the weak factory 6x9's leaving a 12" hole. I then mounted a 3/4" mdf board with necessary cutouts including a 6" port hole. I have not installed the amp yet but these sound fantastic with just the factory radio driving them. I am very happy with these woofers and the tweeters and many other speakers and drivers I have purchased from Parts Express! Thanks Parts Express!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from STAY AWAY! Sub Blew In Less Than 10 Minutes of using it!STAY AWAY! I was excited to hear how well this driver performs considering that I saw so many good reviews on here. Hooked it up to a 4 ohm amp @ 100W RMS (which the sub IS rated for). Because I know that Speakers need a break in period, I played this speaker at low volume and gradually increased it to about 30% volume. It sounded decent, and then it just blew. I could smell the aweful smell of the burning coil, and then I knew I was out of the money I paid for this useless speaker. I went online and double checked the specs on the amp and sub, they are supposed to be compatible! STAY AWAY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect woofers for the moneyI bought a pair of these for my speaker design project to replace a higher power-rated pair, these match my amp's output perfectly. Sound quality is excellent and they seem quite durable, and should last for quite some time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellant low cost quality driveri ordered one of these to replace a blown woofer in my klh av5001 towers. i was blown away better bass and overall performance. i play music loud and hard and these woofers love the power. now i need to replace the other one in my other cabinet as this one outperforms the klh stock woofer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You got to be kidding! these are supper.I was skeptic replaceing my vintage three way pioneer cabs with a low cost sub since i have little knoledge of freq and wattage requierments. These speekers love the power I'm driveing them with a 15 year old jvc recever 105 wats per channel they sound better than the original pioneer. Now I can give the reciver a work out at nearly full volume with little to no distortion.I plan to use the tech department on this site to rebuild two other smaller cab sets and useing the economy priced speeker. Now that I know I can get a good bump for the buck. See ya soon;)

I want to build my own speaker system, 2 12" woofers,1 mid & 1 tweeter,w/ xovers 8ohms.Is it ok to use 2 of these 12"woofers (4ohms & 3.24cft ea) wired in series for 8 ohm load? what would u suggest as box dimension?whats smallest to sound good?

The smallest box I would recommend for a pair of these woofers would be 2 cubic feet heavily stuffed. This would provide an F3 of 64 Hz and F10 of 46 Hz. External dimensions for a box this size would be 40"H x 14"W x 8-3/4"D using 3/4" material.

Need help on crossover for 3-way MTM Tower

I've bought these to build a pair of 3-way MTM tower. using one of these on each side with 4ohm ring dome tweeter (recommend crossover for tweeter is 2.5 kHz) is there any assemble crossover I could use and which drivers for mid-range/mid-bass (dual 5" - 6" mid/bass)

Unfortunately none of our crossovers will work with 4 ohm tweeter or midrange loads. This is something that will probably have to be custom built.

would a speaker with two of these and the 270-300 horn and the 264-270 driver be ok in a box ported thats about 5.5cf? and do i need a crossover

I would not recommend these woofers for an application like this. You would be much better off using something like the Dayton Pro drivers below. You would need a crossover as well.

How to adapt to existing 12" hole?

I've got an existing 12.00 inch diameter hole and would like to use this driver. From the specs, it seems that an 11.00 to 11.25 inch hole is suitable for this (and most 12" drivers). Any suggestions on making or buying an adapter ring?

An adapter ring will need to be used however how this is done is up to the end user. Unfortunately we do not sell anything for this, however MDF or particle board works well.

Cutout size for front mounting

What is the cutout size for front mounting this speaker. My application is replacement for an Infinity SM122 with 10.5" cutout.

want to use 2 per side in open baffle with 1 audio nirvana full range.want to stop everything above 200 hrtz. all 3 drivers wired for 4 ohms.

Since these are 4 ohm drivers they can be wired either to 2 ohm or 8 ohm. But not 4 ohm. Need to make that descission early when designing the passive 18dB per octave network at 200Hz (low pas AND high pass to the Audio Nirvana Driver). If I am not mistaken the Audio Nirvana Driver is 8 ohms? If so then this works great as then the sensitivity will be closer for all teh drivers. You may have to pad down the Audio Nirvana Driver by 3-5 dB with a shelving circuit (resistor in series and a resistor to ground) so the levels will be correct. You probably will need a high pass filter (subsonic) for the woofers as I do not believe the EBP (Efficency Bandwidth Product) of these drivers to be high enough for this application. Infinite baffle is a hard thing to do. Simple to build, but you need the right drivers, and a large baffle so they dont cancel themselves out. Good luck
