Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fixing up an old friendI purchased these mids to rebuild a set of KLH cabs that I picked up on the side of the road. There were no drivers in them, and still need a little bit of work, but along with some new woofers to go in as well they are turning out well. These mids sound great, a lot better than the cheap car speakers I had in them before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding value as a replacement wooferGoldwood - Goldwood GW-205/8S 5-1/4" Shielded Poly Woofer 8 Ohm is an outstanding value as a replacement wooferr in a 2 way speaker system. It is a better than the OEM woofer at a far lower price. I always use Parts Express as my speaker component source ! .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OEM replacement? Those Event PS5's of mine get beat up badly as spot monitors for small gigs. That I got 6 years of hard, improper usage from them is a wonder, and the amps are still going strong in them. This was my choice as a replacement woofer. These woofers seem to be a technically identical to the oem, with only a minor physical difference. The difference is only in the padding around the outer side of the frame. It could probably be trimmed down, but since the fit was fine, I avoided doing so.These woofers and the Vifa BC25SC06-04 1" Textile Dome Tweeters have given these little workhorses new life. Hopefully another six years before I have to do this again, but I know where to come to find them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great replacement for (Realistic) Optimus Pro X55AV 5'' wooferThese speakers are excellent replacement woofers for your Optimus Pro X55AV bookshelf speakers with the hard-to-find 5" woofers. The GW-205 speakers holes do line up perfect for the X55AV metal encloser, however, you will need a pair of sharp "tin-snips" or, red-handle metal shears, to trim away about a 1/6" of the GW-205 outer speaker frame. This is very simple to do and does not have to look perfect assuming you reinstall the metal speaker screen. You may also have to bend down the rear input jacks so the speaker lays flat in the encloser. Again, simple to do, and cheaper and easier than re-coning. Make sure you get the 8 ohm and NOT the 4 ohm for home stereo use. Hope this helps others. I'll be back to order two more for my rear speakers -->surround speakers.

Goldwood GW-205/8S 5-1/4" Shielded Poly Woofer 8 Ohm

Im attempting to replace the woofers in a set of two-speaker Fisher STV - 430s. (8ohm, 100w) the woofers i took out are Sony 1-544-777-11 - (the cabinet hole is smaller, but i got that) - will the frequency response be adequate for studio monitoring?

I need replacement woofers for my realistic Minimus-77. The original 7ohm 55W looks like this one; The mounting holes are 5 3/8 apart diagonally. The width of the speaker is just shy of 5". will this one work?

Asked by: DredStimpson
The screw holes line up just fine, although the overall width of this woofer is 5-5/16" so you will have to make sure the cabinet will accept a woofer frame that wide.

If using this to replace a torn speaker in a in-wall system, should the 'other' speaker (undamaged) also be replaced ?

Newbie and pretty sound illiterate here but do know that 'undamaged' cone is also 8 ohms, not sure if speakers need to be 'perfectly' matched? Thanks for the patience and help!
Asked by: Benmac
If you have a "tuned" ear you will discern a difference between New and used. Your existing speaker could be similar or radically different. I am frugal, I would replace the damaged speaker and listen. You can always replace the other if the difference is too big

Good replacement driver for a PSB Aplha Mini? They're going to be rear surrounds.

Asked by: VWguyBruce
These will work fine for replacements assuming they will fit in the enclosure. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee this.

Yes, these are shielded and should work well as a replacement as long as they will mount ok.
