Goldwood GW-12PC-4 12" Heavy Duty Woofer 4 Ohm
Goldwood GW-12PC-4 12" Heavy Duty Woofer 4 Ohm is rated 4.3636 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from works as I had hoped.I am an upright bass player and put this in a small sealed cabinet for club gigging. It reproduces the sound of my 5 string (low B) acoustic very well with little coloration and minimal eq adjusting on my amp. The efficiency is down a bit from regular mi speakers but this is due to the rubber surround. I got the idea from the GK 150 combos that also use a rubber surround speaker rather than an accordian surround and overall I am very pleased with the tone. Works for me!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Type-O on spec power minimum requirmentsMY minimum rating is 240watts/channel.thats 140w for these subs, 50w for mid range, and 50w for tweeters per channel. so I'm running them at 40watts less then required and they do a fantastic job at producing the needed bass for my set up. Ive had these now for a little over a year and they're holdin up my rig with intensity. However I would like to see a sub- woofer with the lower frequencies in mind 26hz-18hz up to 800hz for that much needed subsonic feeling, with same construction material and power handling specifications. then you have the perfect speaker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does the job with the rightI had to create a three way stereo system, and these i what i chose based on a crown xls 202a pwer amplifier. Im a dj and need great frequency response for playback of vinyl and the likes. what makes these great is 1. the materials used(poly, butyl rubber etc.), 2. is the frequency response full bass,mid-bass 32hz-2000khz 3.The Price! I had specific power requirements 200 watts /ch at 4 ohms thes fall right in between there power ratings. they are clear sounding with good punch, but being that they only go as low as 32hz they dont have sub bass going as low as 18 hz to really feel the bass notes with authority! also b/c my particular build requires 290watts minimum to push my hi(75w), mid(75w) and lows(140w)to get the maximum amount of sound, i will be gettin a 300w/ch amp in the future to do so, but dont get it twisted these bump at a little passed half way at 200watts/ch and THEY ARE LOUD!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent replacement for my Cerwin Vega S-1Luckily I managed to catch these ate $39 before the price jump, yikes! But these went into a pair of Cerwin Vega S-1's because i couldn't find any used CW's with the correct specs and new CW's were too much. These dropped right in without having to enlarge the hole. The terminals are a great addition and they're sitting nice and pretty and sounding amazing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Woofer at the Right PriceI've done a lot of speaker building over the years and have tried a lot of different inexpensive woofers as I don't believe most applications require expensive drivers. I did however buy a used Image Dynamics 12" driver for my car and unfortunately pushed it a little too hard and blew it. While it was back at the factory getting repaired I purchased this Goldwood 12" both to fill in while the other was at the shop, but also to try it out in a rather demanding environment with the hope that it was good enough to build into a subwoofer for the living room when the repaired driver was returned. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with it. It's accurate, but also handles difficult, bass heavy music without complaint. I have it in the trunk of my BMW and if you know BMW's, the trunk is nearly sealed (metal all the way around) so it's difficult for even low frequencies to get into the main cabin. This means that you have to really turn up the woofer to get anything into the listening environment, and this woofer has no problems doing that. I wholeheartedly recommend this woofer if you are looking for something that is above average in performance and below average in cost.

Goldwood GW-12PC-4 12" Heavy Duty Woofer 4 Ohm

Hi there I have a pair of sealed speakers boxes that are 2.07 cu.ft I would like to port them so they have a tuning freq. Around 30hz-35hz. What would be the best port size dia. And length to make them.  Thank you.

Asked by: mopar101
A port that is 3" in diameter and 7" long will tune the box to 31 Hz.

two way with a dayton tweeter

With the tweeter below would this speaker work well in a 2 way crossed at about 1200hz 12db/octave?
Asked by: William 67
This tweeter is designed to compliment DA woofers. The Goodwood is close so I would not be afraid to try it. I prefer mid/ tweeters in2 way speakers. I build my crossovers for 800 Hz. to 1 khz. I realize this is not an industry standard but I like a lot of definition in this area.

this is a very interesting driver. could it be a possible 2 way with a tweeter crossed over about 3500 or so.this driver would sound good in 1sqft box

Asked by: spunky
vocal quality nope! in large woofers without lots of driver design for pa use the cones do not produce good mids GO THREE WAY OR SMALLER DRIVERS AND USE THIS FOR SUB [100 HZ DOWN] EITHER WAY A BOUT 5 TO 8 HUNDRED HZ IS ALL A 12 IN CAN DO !
