Goldwood GT-520 1" Soft Dome Horn Tweeter
Goldwood GT-520 1" Soft Dome Horn Tweeter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this tweeter. It is not super brilliant but just right blend in natural highs. I had been padding down most tweeters but not this one. Play it straight at ear level if possible because this is the best sounding tweeter I have purchased. I was told to steer away from Goldwood by some but they are wrong on this product. Buy it you'll like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UpgradeI purchased these to replace the paper tweeters in a 1955 Silvertone tube console stereo. I got it at Goodwill for $9.95. These tweeters are so much more sweet than the ones that were in there. I'm not pushing a ton of power at them so I can't say much about power handling. I can; however, say that they sound smooth as silk. WELL worth $12.50 a piece. A MAJOR upgrade in my situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very PleasedThese tweeters have a very clear, more focused sound than the much more expensive mylar dome tweeters they replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tweeter for the pricei got these tweeters for my cerwin vega ve12 floor speakers because i thought that the ones on it were too tinny, and origonally wanted a horn tweeter. i couldnt find a horn tweeter i liked but i knew silk dome tweeters were good . these were perfect because they fit in my incloser with no mods, and they had a horn. i think for the money these are great because they are much more warming sounding and not tinny. i was suprised by the weight and they quality, because i thought they would be cheap like and they definetly are not. they have a large magnet and a deeper horn then i expected. overall i would recomment these because you cant beat this quality for the price. i have not really cranked my stereo since putting them in so i dont know how much power they can really handle but so far they are great. once i can, i will blast them to see how good they are at louder volumes and add on to this review or write another if i have to.

Contemplating using one of these in a car install in a pillar mount preferably paired with an Eminence Eminator 6.5 midrange crossed about 4500, is there a in-line crossover ideal for this? And wondering how the power handling would be at said xover point

Asked by: 97prelude
The power handling will be no different regardless of crossover point chosen. A good crossover for this would be in the link below.

I'm considering running one of these with the GRS 8FR-8. Running the GRS 8FR-8 in full range and using the GT-520 to complete the top end of the spectrum.  Is our necessary to have a crossover for this application? If so, what is the simplest solution?

Asked by: Tom_S
Yes you will still need a crossover to protect the tweeter. A simple solution would be a basic high pass filter like the one below.

Hello, i have 2 Pioneer SP-FS51-LR Floorstanding Tower Speaker 130W 6ohms.. The tweeter is not working... Can i use the goldwood GT-520 o do you have any other that i can use instead.. I need 2 tweeters

Asked by: Jmduarte
The tweeters used in those speakers are proprietary. I would recommend contacting Pioneer directly first to try to get replacements from them.
