Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good, but brittle.I bought one of these back in January for a cheap PA speaker build. At one point I did accidentally drop this waveguide with the compression driver attached and as expected, it did break, but I was able to superglue it back together. It's a very reasonable build quality for the price, as long as you don't throw it around, it should hold up just fine.I've actually just purchased a second one of these now, as I plan to make another cheap PA speaker, so I'd definitely recommend these for low price PA speaker builds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value Replacement Horn. This horn is a great replacement for an off-brand built 2-way speaker replacement. It fits the old cut-out perfectly and allows the old or similar driver to screw on for quick replacement. The only drawback is the lightweight plastic of the horn will not stand up to the rigors of the heavy driver and the abuse of lots of handling by many people for setup and teardown. One decently heavy drop of the speaker cabinet in a crossways direction is enough to crack or break the horn at the driver, but it has held up admirably for over a year and is not too expensive. On balance I consider this a good value for the money and a great buy if you are going to set them up somewhere and rarely move them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd SetI had purchased a set of these a few years ago to replace a bullet tweeter in some PAS cabs I refit with new/better components. They were matched to a pair of Selenium DH200E-drivers which fit perfectly. With the weight of the drivers and the horns being plastic, I used plumbers tape to help secure the horns to the inside of the cab should the cabs get jolted or dropped.I have used these cabs as both mains and monitors for many a band and DJ gig and while I do take care of my gear, stuff, as they say happens. You guessed it, both cabs were dropped and both horns snapped at their bases. The bracing actually held the drivers in place but I could see that the plastic had seperated at the narrowest point of the horn base where it meets the driver. Remarkably, (more incredibly!!!) the cabs sounded fine after my initial inspection of the components and I even used them in their broken state a couple of times without any noticeable difference in performance.I ordered another set but after I removed the broken horns from the cabs, I found I really didnt need to as I was able to use super-glue to reattach both lenses to thier bases. Since I already had the cabs apart, I used the new ones of course but now I have a spare set that are just as good and strong as the replacements. These are decent, attactive horns with good dispersion and plastic thread (a few models/sizes have metal threads installed) Used with a 1 3/8" 18 TPI threaded driver and some reinforcment bracing, they will stand up to some pretty hard abuse. For plastic, these are some pretty tough (and repairable) horns for a great price.I have read and heard many times that aluminum horns are the best as far as strengh but I seriously doubt that any metal horns would have withstood being dropped 5 feet either. DOH!!!!!Parts Express? The BEST!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It fits, but......It fits, but I'd rather have a metal horn. As one reveiwer mentioned wait till you drop a cab. Yes it'll break with any decent size driver on it. And the reinforcment mounting tabs are the wrong way for a 90 degree piece of metal to keep it from breaking. With a little cobbling you can mount something or break the glue joint and turn it. So, their cheap and they fit. But not the greatest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NiceIt's plastic but strong. Easy to mount. I really like the way it looks in my PA cabs.

what is the mounting depth and what is the coverage? 90x60?

Asked by: dubmash
Mounting depth is about 10". 90X60. That coverage is expected at the crossover frequency. Above say--5-7 Hz all horns become more directional. The point where the horn fares into a (small round point) is where higher frequencies are reinforced. This horn will hold a 1-2 lb driver but above that, you will need wooden or wire support to keep it from cracking when dropped.

Which horn, GT-400PB or GT-500PB is better for sound freq 800Hz to 16KHz and can travel longest distance

Asked by: Victor Gee
Either one is equally suitable for the frequencies you indicated, and both would have similar performance. All other things being equal, I can't honestly say one would transmit further than the other. This kind of decision would typically come down to which one is a better fit, based on the physical area available in your cabinets.
