Goldwood GT-25 4" Cone Tweeter
Goldwood GT-25 4" Cone Tweeter is rated 4.0417 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good basic, affordable tweeterI bought this two weeks ago, and I'm glad I did....I combined it with the GRS 8PR-8 woofer and PE 260-174 crossover, to build a good sounding pair of two way tower speakers.Note: the overall diameter of these tweeters is 4", not 1.06". And the cutout diameter listed is too small. I used a 3 1/8" hole saw, and they fit perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For ReplacementsUsed this in my MCS 3-ways in the "midrange" with a 4.7uF JB cap and it sounds better than the original. Solidly built and does have a warm aura to it. However, I didn't realize the tiny black circle on it was sticky, so I got some sawdust on it that I couldn't really get completely off - if you're a newbie like me remember this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful tweeterI purchased this as a replacement for my 27 year old tower speaker. It sounds great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cone tweeter for vintage speakers. The specs for this tweeter were shockingly good for the price. I was concerned about the build quality but it exceeded my expectations. I only had to slightly bend the tabs and I had a perfect fit in my Harman Kardon HK-20's. The sound is more extended and yet balanced and dare I say smooth! Thanks Parts Express for selling quality products at a discount price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value tweeter! For under $5 this one is hard to beat. Good crisp clean highs from this little driver. Good size magnet, well built and produces surprisingly good results, making it the best under $5 tweeter I have seen!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good value replacement tweeter for older speakersUsed this to replace the blown tweeters in a pair of JVC SP-7WD speakers. These were cheap, big-box speakers meant to impresses the novice audio buyer with their looks. The original hole was 2.9", which should have fit but the tweeter has a small ring on the back which necessitated putting a chamfer on the mounting hole with a dremel tool. Not a big deal. The tweeters blend well with the rest of the 80's paper cone components. I like how they sound and you can't beat the price. While I had the drivers out I also replaced the electrolytics with Dayton film caps. They definitely improved the sound quality.

With the only spec being Fs, is there any way to get the component values to get the resonance/impedance peak out?

Asked by: ivandezande

I have a 3-way MCS speaker system that had a speaker in it that stopped working that looked exactly like this one. I always thought it was a midrange but the crossover for it was a lone 4.7uF capacitor so is this the replacement?

Asked by: ivandezande
This will work well as a replacement for that speaker with a cap value of 4.7 uF.

I should have mentioned there is no crossover in the speakers I'm putting these in. Do you still recommend part # 027-422 for the capacitors?

Asked by: Mineshaft
That will work perfectly fine.

The capacitor on the tweeters I'm replacing is in-line, 16UF. If I got these, do I still need capacitors?

Asked by: Mineshaft
Yes you will still need capacitors for these tweeters, although 16 uF is a bit too low for a safe crossover with these. I would recommend a 4.7 uF cap for these Goldwood tweeters.

I'm replacing four 3" tweeters in a vintage solid state stereo console.  It's a GE C521 from 1966.  It currently has two tweeters channel mounted inside each woofer.  I believe the existing tweeters are 16 ohm.  Will this work?

Asked by: stevenU
If the original tweeters are 16 ohm these will not work unfortunately. We do not have any 16 ohm tweeters to offer, however you could use two 4 ohm tweeters and wire them in series to get the same overall impedance.

What crossover do you recommend?

I have a vintage hifi system, I'm replacing the two existing woofers with Goldwood GW-210/8 woofers and the tweeter with the Goldwood GT25 4" cone tweeter. Is there a prebuilt crossover that would work well in this configuration?
Asked by: MsJefferson
Since you will be using two 8 ohm woofers, I would recommend the Dayton 260-148.
