Goldwood GT-25 4" Cone Tweeter
Replacement for Bose 301 blown tweeter
Hi, I have an old pair of Bose 301 series 1 speakers and one has a blown tweeter. I'm only using them for home theater back surround. I believe the Bose tweeter is 8 ohms and the crossover is around 2500 Hz. Would the Goldwood GT-25 tweeter be close enough in specs to work? Thanks - Bob
No. The Bose drivers are very specific. You need to contact Bose service and get a replacement from them

Confused with 2 reviews left
There are 2 reviews in which 2 of your customers utilized the GT-25 to replace the tweeters in some older Fisher ST-830's. Both said it worked great and one said it didn't fit (but it will). I also need to replace the tweeters in my Fisher St-830's however, the original tweets & midranges are both 4 ohm. Will this work?
Replacing a 4 ohm tweeter with an 8 ohm tweeter will shift the existing crossover frequency down by approximately one octave. This will not damage your amplifier, but depending upon the specific crossover frequency being used, it could damage the new 8 ohm tweeter itself. It would also have a significant impact on the overall sound quality of the speaker system, by reinforcing certain frequencies that the 4 ohm tweeter was not originally covering. It is usually best to replace like with like, however, if you're replacing other drivers and the crossover network, you can choose components that will work well together. I would recommend strongly against replacing a 4 ohm tweeter with an 8 ohm (or vice versa) in the vast majority of situations.

are these closed back?
Yes, these are typical, sealed-back cone tweeters.

What crossover do you recommend?
I have a vintage hifi system, I'm replacing the two existing woofers with Goldwood GW-210/8 woofers and the tweeter with the Goldwood GT25 4" cone tweeter. Is there a prebuilt crossover that would work well in this configuration?
Since you will be using two 8 ohm woofers, I would recommend the Dayton 260-148.
