Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features killer price! This one is a winner! It solid, thick 3/8" reinforced plastic. Its strong enough to hold the Selenium D408ti driver its bolted to. And really made a difference in sound compared to the older horns my builder got. Night and day difference would recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't TOUCH this!A genuine JBL replica! American ingenuity meets Chinese industry! A match made in heaven. These CD lenses exceeded my expectations and prior experiences with similar products. We're talking:Build QualityEngineering Quality (Sound Quality)Purchased a couple for the new dorm-room build. They sport a fairly serious 3/8" ABS construction, with thick spines that provide additional strength across the backs of each major panel. So, all-in-all, no worries about strength, resonances, durability, etc. Nice things to cross off the list, particularly for such an inexpensive horn. But how do they Sound? In a word, good. About as good as any spin on Don Keele's creation can sound. These represent an appreciable effort to improve the listenability of CD horns over the 80s' machines without sacrificing much of their lower-frequency loading benefits.First off, the designers eliminated all sharp edges within the horn, save for those at the end of the slot, to reduce some of the diffraction nasties associated with this CD format. Towards similar ends, the engineers also slanted the top and bottom sides of the diffraction slot and bored a slight, circular cut into the length of the left and right sides of the slot to cut down on the development of standing waves. Good work!Listening (with a dose of eq to lift the sagging VHF response and dipping lower midrange, starting around 800Hz or so) indicated (to my ears, anyhow) that these lenses offer a reasonable sound quality advantage over their ancestors. That said, I don't foresee Earl Gedees (or any dedicated member of the EconoWave crowd) running out to buy a pair. No number of small enhancements eliminates the relatively severe time-domain distortions inherent to the application of a diffraction slot to achieve high VHF dispersion.On-axis listening (after parametric EQ boost to compensate for dropping power response) proved extremely uncomfortable, with a brash, squeaky sound in spite of a level frequency response. Slightly (15 degrees) off-axis listening, however, offered nearly the same, level frequency response with far, far less of the same harshness. Passable. I would appreciate any insight on this effect.I also plan to experiment with stuffing the slot and the transition region from the slot to the expansive region of the lens with a variety of foams. From what I've read and what I've worked out on paper during lunch breaks at work, this approach may have something to offer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT LENS!I've had 4 of these for over six years. I originally bought them because I was replacing 1" exit drivers and lenses with 2" exit drivers and this lens allowed me to do so with a minimum of modification to the speaker cabinet. I originally went with dimensions over performance when choosing these, but I've never been disappointed in these lenses. They've seen several cabinets and drivers. I recently pulled them from a set of cabinets and am planning to build a new set of cabinets around these lenses. I was nervous about plastic too, but these are tough and still look new after a little dusting.I've loaded them with JBL 2446 Drivers and the old (long discontinued) Eminence PSD3003. They have sounded great with both!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best kept secret for 2" horns.I bought these because of the price and they have the specs I wanted. However, I was concerned about the manufacturer and the light weight plastic. When I mounted my EV DH1s to these I could here an immediate improvement with the openess, high frequency extension and, clarity. These are a steal at $50.00 each.I highly recommend these horns for your 2" drivers.
