from Maybe the best value RCA plugs Parts Epress offersI just finished a couple of custom RCA cables. I wanted a custom length, something that looks awesome and a fun project. I wanted the Dayton locking RCA but after reading the Theater Shack.com tutorial I knew I would be happy with these and the ease of installation, the looks and the performance. Everyone looking to make their own RCA interconnects should read this.I used these and the Belden 8412 mic cable and neon blue 1/4" Techflex cable. The 8.3 mm opening fits the cable with Techflex like a glove. The set screw securly locks both in place, no need for complicated shirk wrap. Warning, do not heat the RCA center cup too long. The insulation will soften and move the pin off center. It happened to me twice. Reheat the pin and move it back to center. The ground connections allow a custom fit. OK, the ground connections are sloppy and you have to crimp them a bit to get a snug fit on the female RCA. I am running this on an budget 2.1 audiophile system. An iPod feeds a Fiio preamp e09K. The line out runs to a Dayton SA1000 sub amp to a 15" Ultimax sub in a custom sealed box. The preout feeds a digital Topping TP60 amp which goes to the amazing HSU Research HB-1 MKII bookshelf speakers full range.Overall this was a fun project and the performance and cosmetics were exactly what I was looking for.

from Red RCA PlugNot bad units for the price. Don't know why they are more than the black and yellow ones, (have used all three), but they are easy enough to work with.Large frame, easy enough to solder . Room enough for two ground wires if one so desires.Easy enough to take apart also.Large outside barrel, looks nice enough.Have used many .
