Gold Binding Post Banana Jack Pair Extra Long Shaft w/ Solder Tabs
Gold Binding Post Banana Jack Pair Extra Long Shaft w/ Solder Tabs is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Banana plugs work best - nice tight connectionI purchased these to replace the cheap plastic 90's binding posts on a pair of Apogee Acoustics Centaur Major speakers. The posts are a perfect replacement, the rear bolt is the same diameter and plenty long enough.I did have to get some faucet aerator washers to insulate the back side. The old binding posts would not come out of the front mounting bracket, even with a hammer, so the rear bracket became the front and the washers became the rear bracket, since you can't see it anyway. The plugs still rotate if you try hard enough, the stock binding plugs were glued in or something to keep them from rotating. As another reviewer mentioned, these are less than ideal for bare wire or spades. I have some beefy Nakamichi spades that don't work well with these at all, but were fine with the BPA-38G's. I couldn't use the BPA's because the rear bolt was too thick, but I wound up getting some Sewell Silverback banana plugs and the connection is VERY secure. This whole binding post adventure started because I was trying to position my speakers in the room and my old banana plugs kept falling out of the binding posts. The spades sort of solved that, except they were too thick to fit in the stock binding posts. The BPA binding posts were too thick to fit in my speakers, and these BPT's fit perfectly, but don't work well with spades. The Sewell banana plugs combined with these binding posts seems perfect, easy to connect/disconnect, looks nice, and very secure even with heavy jacketed 4 strands of 10-gauge wire hanging off the back of them.More than you wanted to know? Probably.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad bare wire side entry design!Side entry holes are well chamfered, but center pocket is so deep that when screwing down to tighten, it will tend to shear the wire on sharp edge of chamfered side entry hole. They appear OK for use with banana plugs but for spades or bare wire thay leave a lot to be desired. I took the loss in purchasing these (based on past reviews), and I'm now ordering the BPA-38Gs which look much better in regard to my complaint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High Quality for the PriceI did not actually use these binding posts since they turned out to be too long to fit my speakers due to the placement of internal bracing in my speakers. My fault. I did use the metal lock washers, however. These posts, if not to long for your application, seem to be very high in quality and very flexible in terms of the types of terminations you can use inside and outside the speaker. The posts need #10 O-rings/lugs to fit around them. The outside will accommodate very large-gauge bare wire and the edges of the hole through the post are nicely rounded so as not to shear off fine wire strands if you use bare wire connections as I like to do.
