Furman PS-REL AC Sensing Remote Control Relay For Sequencer
This device looks pretty good. can you pls tell me what the rating is for the relay contacts? I'd like to run a 120V time delay relay with this. The coil of the relay draws. 2.6 VA or 0.022 amps at 120 volts] . Thanks pls advise asap
Can I use this to turn on my amplifier from my preamp?
My preamp has switched outlets and my amplifier has a 12v trigger on input (3.5mm). Can I use this product with some other connection to plug into the switched outlet of the preamp, then to the amp - so when I turn on the switched outlet, it turns on the amp? If so, that would be sweet. If not, is there another product or other recommendation you might have? Thanks!
This product gives you a relay contact that closes when it senses 120VAC. You could 1) plug this unit into one of the switched outlets on the back of your preamp, 2) find an old 12VDC AC adapter in your junk box (I have oodles of them) and 3) wire the 12V from the adapter in series with this unit's normally-open relay contact, and feed that now-switched 12VDC to the 12V trigger input of your amp. That should turn on your amp when your preamplifier turns on.What might be a little more helpful would be if this AC-sensing relay closed a few seconds AFTER it senses AC voltage. This would allow time for the preamp to finish producing any "clicks" or "pops" before the amplifier can send those noises to your speakers, possibly damaging them, and certainly annoying the listener. Do the switched outlets on your preamp turn on instantly, or after a short delay?
