F-Conn Gold RCA Male Connector RG-6/Quad RG-6 5 Pcs.
I have a question about compatibility (see below)
If I hook my speakers up which have banana connects to rca plugswhich my new blu-ray disc player has, will there be any compatibilityproblems ie- impedance, etc. ? Someone said amps with rca connects must have speakers with amps installed in them because rca wire sends a passive signal, and regular speakers/speaker wire would not work because they carry an active signal.
RCA connections are typically utilized to carry line-level (unamplified) signal. Your Blu-Ray device does not have an audio amplifier, thus the presence of the RCA connections. In order to use speakers with your Blu-Ray device, it is necessary to have an amplifier in the signal path between the Blu-Ray device and the speakers. The line-level outputs of the Blu-Ray device would go to the inputs on the amplifier, then the outputs of the amplifier would be fed to the speakers. If you need a small, discrete amplifier for this type of application, our DTA-1 is a popular choice. I've linked it below for your convenience.

a) can I use cable that is 8.5 mm ext diameter with these RCA plugs?
b) will you ship to Australia?
We do ship to Australia, but unfortunately, the inside diameter of this particular RCA is only 8.0mm, so it would not be compatible with an 8.5mm cable.
