ESS 689-1220 12" Cast Frame Woofer Speaker
What cabinet volume is needed to get a -3db of 25hz and 30hz using this woofer and the matching passive radiator? What is the optimum cabinet size to get the best low frequency response?
This is a bit of a tricky woofer to model with a passive radiator. The optimal volume that Bassbox spits out is almost 9 cubic feet. You can go much smaller, such as 2,5 cubic feet and still get a tuning frequency around 27 Hz with 100 grams of weight added to the PR. With no weight added, the tuning frequency rises to about 31 Hz.

Can these replace ALL 12" ESS woofers? The ones I would be replacing are #680-0019 because I can't find a recone kit anywhere.
These are designed to replace the ESS AMT woofers although in the right application they can work for others as well.
