Product Details

Eminence PXB3:5K0 3-Way Speaker Crossover Board 500/5,000 Hz
Eminence pxb board-only crossovers are a lower cost alternative to the "cabinet ready" models and are targeted specifically for custom cabinet projects as they do not include the terminal cup, input connectors or L-pad found on the "cabinet ready" models. They feature advanced circuit design to both preserve the crossover and your drivers. A benefit of the design is to form a voltage divider across the high frequency driver. The high-pass protection uses custom-built aerospace lamps. The tungsten filaments effectively track the program material, dynamically maintaining a safe maximum current level to the high frequency driver without introducing distortion. This circuitry provides smooth 3:1 analog compression during input overload conditions over 250 watts RMS. At full drive level approaching clipping, the electrical attenuation to the protected high frequency driver is -4.5 dB. In every way, Eminence pxb crossovers are a technically superior product. For use with 8 ohm drivers.

Eminence PXB3:5K0 3-Way Speaker Crossover Board 500/5,000 Hz
Eminence PXB3:5K0 3-Way Speaker Crossover Board 500/5,000 Hz is rated 4.5714 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great power handlingBut it seems as though the 6 dB/octave should be for the woofer and the 12db/octave should be for the mids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eminence PXB3:5K0 3-Way Crossover Board 500/5,000 HzI have the EMINENCE PXB3:5K0 3-WAY CROSSOVER BOARD 500/5,000 HZ in the back of my 2005 Dodge Magnum in a custom made box with one JL Audio 15 W1 8 Ohm subwoofer, two Pyle PM8DC 8" Midrange speakers and 4 Pyramid TW44 1" 300 Watt Titanium Super Tweeters. Powering it all is a Rockford Fasgate, 1000.2 amp that is bridged. I must say this setup is very load and very clear. With the back open you can hear and feel it from a New York city block. I was very surprised by them and very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eminence crossoverThis crossover is absolutely amazing. It is very balanced and it sounds very good. I used it on a tweeter with a mid and a 12" goldwood sub, it sounds very good. The bass is very tight and distortion is very low. I have always ordered stuff from parts express and the quality is always there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Emminence 500Hz-5K Hz 3-Way CrossoversPut two of these in our early 1990's O.A.P. Audio 3-Way JBL loaded RLH1510 PA cabinets. I used the higher 5K Hz crossover point to protect the JBL 2370A horns and drivers. That sent the bottom end 30 Hz to 500 Hz to the big JBL 2225H 15" woofer and the signals from 500 Hz to 5K Hz to the JBL 2123H 10" midrange speaker. Now the guitars and bass signals of 30 Hz to 5K Hz go to the JBL woofer and JBL midrange where they belong and the top end signals over 5K hz go to the JBL dispersion horn. Rated at 400w each, it will be impossible to blow these crossovers since we are only running 200w to each cabinet. These Emminence crossovers really improved the bottom-end and opened up the overall sound of our older O.A.P. Audio PA cabinets. These crossovers are highly recommended for up to 400w pro sound cabinets. Make sure to purchase a pair of Emminence PX-BULB crossover fuses just to be prepared.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This looks nothing like the picture! For $50 you get a well built fuse protected Rohs complient crossover. Find that somewhere else! The mounting tabs even have plastic spacers so the board does not flex when mounted. The actual unit is light tan with two fuses and the inductors are larger. One minor complaint is that If you plan to solder wires instead of use spade connectors, be careful. Solder does not like to stick very well on them.

Does it work fine with my system below ? DRIVERS: W : ScanSpeak 18W/8531-G00, M: Accuton C244-8, T: HIQUPHON OWI

Asked by: Duync
I would not recommend this or any of our pre-made crossovers for those drivers. In order to get the most from those, you will want a custom designed crossover based on measurements taken in the cabinet and in-room by a seasoned designer. I would recommend posting on our forum for help with this, there is likely somebody there that would be happy to help you.

Is it crucial to use an L Pad?

Is an L Pad a must? Or can I get away without one and just use the Eq?
Asked by: Sage
An L-pad is not always necessary, it depends on the drivers used. Horn drivers by nature will have more output with a given input power so L-pads are used to bring this down to match the output of the woofers. An EQ will not do this in the same fashion.

Is this crossover for both 1 and 2 channels?

It has 2 sets of + and - terminals so I'm guessing it will work for both 1 or 2 channels which if it is is exactly what I need it for. I'm building a 5 driver enclosure which consists of one 12in. woofer, two 5in midranges and two 1in dome tweeters. I'm using the Lepai LP-168HA for the amp. I want to be able to use both stereo channels on the amp sense the amp is not bridgeable I have to use an extra midrange and tweeter to be able to utilize both L and R Stereo channels. Basically I need 2 crossovers or just 1 of these if it will work for what I need it for.
Asked by: Harrison
This is a single channel crossover which means it only has inputs for one left or right channel and three outputs, one for woofer, one for midrange and one for tweeter/horn. Unfortunately we do not have anything that will combine two output channels into one speaker.
