Eminence PXB2:800 2-Way Speaker Crossover Board 800 Hz
Eminence pxb board-only crossovers are a lower cost alternative to the "cabinet ready" models and are targeted specifically for custom cabinet projects as they do not include the terminal cup, input connectors or L-pad found on the "cabinet ready" models. They feature advanced circuit design to both preserve the crossover and your drivers. A benefit of the design is to form a voltage divider across the high frequency driver. The high-pass protection uses custom-built aerospace lamps. The tungsten filaments effectively track the program material, dynamically maintaining a safe maximum current level to the high frequency driver without introducing distortion. This circuitry provides smooth 3:1 analog compression during input overload conditions over 250 watts RMS. At full drive level approaching clipping, the electrical attenuation to the protected high frequency driver is -4.5 dB. In every way, Eminence pxb crossovers are a technically superior product. For use with 8 ohm drivers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Sound I've Been Looking For...This is a serious, SERIOUS crossover. I have this in an sound system that requires meticulous attention to the crossover frequency and the ability to handle the power thrown at it. I truly think the drivers will go before the crossover.Eminence knew what they were doing when they designed and built the PXB2-800. I've bought several of these for different units and I haven't had a bad experience yet. I'll continue buying these as long as they're available.Thanks, Parts Express for carrying professional level gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took 90 watts of power just fine.I converted my Leslie speaker cabinet that I use on stage in my rock and roll band to 8 ohms and used this crossover being pushed by a 90 watt solid state Leslie amp and it did great. Sounded as good as the normal set up and took the loud power at a gig just fine and clear. I'm well pleased and will buy more of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serious, Profesional Quality product!These cross overs are built for serious use. These are not cheapies. There is tweeter protection that kicks in over 90 watts or so, wether the "blurb" tells you or not. Of course, most tweeters will have blown up or burned out long before 90 watts! These are made for use by musicians who tend to "rock out" and destroy the average leven of product. These units are survivors, even in extreme conditions. I have two different models crossing over at 800 and 2500 Hz. I am of the "buy the best and forget about it" school of speaker building. These will survive anything you throw at them. If your speaker system goes silent, it's not a crossover problem!

Hello, i have a pair of floorstand speakers (8Ω), will be to connect with AMT tweeters(4Ω), Can i use 4Ω version of PXB2 between them? Because i will use the same PXB2 on other 2way 4Ω speakers project later, many thanks.

Is it possible to add an L pad for high frequency attenuation.  I would like to use these with Altec 416-8A and 802-8A drivers in a Altec designed Hi-Fi box.

Will this crossover work appropriately for a 16 ohm 2-way? Using a pair of 15 in. Stephens woofers and Altec Lansing horns (midrange + tweeter)

This crossover is intended to work with 8 ohm loads and the crossover point would not be the same with different impedance.

On this Crossover Eminence PXB2:800 2-Way. The 800 hz is that mean the frequency that going to the woofer or to the tweeter?

I'm trying to build a speaker system and I'm also trying to find out the crossover. How do I find out on a crossover what frequency or how many Hz is going to the woofer, midrange, and tweeter so I can best match my woofers, and tweeter. I'm planning on three way but I'm thinking more toward two way to save some money. Please help. Thanks

This crossover will send 800 and down to the woofer , and 800 and above to the tweeter.

These crossovers will accept 0.25" female disconnects or you can solder directly to the tabs.

Basically the PXB2:800 800Hz crossover point will shift lower , estimated somewhere between 400 - 600Hz.FYI:all crossover parts values must be known to accurately calculate the exact change by reverse-engineering and why can only estimate.Looking at your 4 ohm driver choices and specifications see both drivers are well within safe operating range and feel the lower crossover point will be a fat plus.
