Product Details

Eminence PXB2:500 2-Way Speaker Crossover Board 500 Hz
Eminence pxb board-only crossovers are a lower cost alternative to the "cabinet ready" models and are targeted specifically for custom cabinet projects as they do not include the terminal cup, input connectors or L-pad found on the "cabinet ready" models. They feature advanced circuit design to both preserve the crossover and your drivers. A benefit of the design is to form a voltage divider across the high frequency driver. The high-pass protection uses custom-built aerospace lamps. The tungsten filaments effectively track the program material, dynamically maintaining a safe maximum current level to the high frequency driver without introducing distortion. This circuitry provides smooth 3:1 analog compression during input overload conditions over 250 watts RMS. At full drive level approaching clipping, the electrical attenuation to the protected high frequency driver is -4.5 dB. In every way, Eminence pxb crossovers are a technically superior product. For use with 8 ohm drivers.

I Have two 16 ohm 12 inch drivers in parallel to the amp in a refurbished '60s box. I decided to extend mid-high frequency balance with a HF driver. Intended use for guitar, bass and elect piano. Is this the correct crossover for that application.?

Asked by: Piano Man
Without knowing anything about the drivers it is impossible to say. The woofer impedance will work fine with the amp, but you will need to make sure the horn driver is 8 ohms as well, and can safely handle this crossover frequency.

if I wanted to use this x over for a bass guitar cabinet, and I have a 4 ohm 18" driver already, what ohms (4 or 8) and what power handling speaker should I use to make performance nice and neutral ?

Asked by: music is
This crossover is designed to work with 8 ohm drivers, so using a 4 ohm woofer will roughly double the crossover frequency. Usually a popular driver for an application like this would be an Eminence Alpha or Beta 6 which will cover 500 Hz and up very well if you do not want to use a horn driver.

I would like to deploy this to separate signals going up to horn tweeters and a box woofer.  Is this product good for that application?

Asked by: dbenitez74
This will work as long as the horns can handle a crossover that low.

Hi, if my LF driver is 8 ohms and my HF driver is 8 ohms.  What impedance does the amplifier see if I use this crossover?  Thanks.

Asked by: Tsingtao_1903
The overall impedance load will be 8 ohms with that crossover.

hello,  i have recently come across a speaker system using the  PXB2:500 crossover with a BG RD40 Planar Transducer and what appear to be 2 Dayton 4" 8 Ohm woofers. do you have a correct passive crossover for this combination?

Asked by: Ikura
Without knowing which Dayton models they are it is impossible to say which crossovers will work the best. We do not have one specifically for a combination like this.
