Product Details

Eminence PXB2:1K6 2-Way Speaker Crossover Board 1,600 Hz
Eminence pxb board-only crossovers are a lower cost alternative to the "cabinet ready" models and are targeted specifically for custom cabinet projects as they do not include the terminal cup, input connectors or L-pad found on the "cabinet ready" models. They feature advanced circuit design to both preserve the crossover and your drivers. A benefit of the design is to form a voltage divider across the high frequency driver. The high-pass protection uses custom-built aerospace lamps. The tungsten filaments effectively track the program material, dynamically maintaining a safe maximum current level to the high frequency driver without introducing distortion. This circuitry provides smooth 3:1 analog compression during input overload conditions over 250 watts RMS. At full drive level approaching clipping, the electrical attenuation to the protected high frequency driver is -4.5 dB. In every way, Eminence pxb crossovers are a technically superior product. For use with 8 ohm drivers.

Eminence PXB2:1K6 2-Way Speaker Crossover Board 1,600 Hz
Eminence PXB2:1K6 2-Way Speaker Crossover Board 1,600 Hz is rated 4.5556 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent CrossoverUsed this crossover to rebuild a pair of custom built speakers I built over 15 years ago. All of the original components were cheap rado shck components. The speakers sounded muffled and all around terrible before the rebuild. I converted the speakers from 3-way to 2-way using a Klipsch Reference titanium horn tweeter, this crossover, but kept the original woofer for now. The difference is nothing short of amazing. Everything coming out of the speakers is now crystal clear. The clarity and detail in movies and music blows me away. Blending between the tweeter and woofer are done very well. I'm very happy with the performance and cost of this crossover. It seems to be well built with quality components. Very well worth the cost. I will use Eminence crossovers again when the time comes. But as I'm not pushing this crossover to it's limits I would expect this crossover to last and perform for many years.Other thoughts: paired with a Klipsch Reference center channel, all 3 speakers work seamlessly together for movies, which sound incredible. Music sounds better than ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value x-overI've bought a few of these now and will by more if I need to. Used a pair in pro audio speaker applications and used one to replace the stock crossover that came in a powered Harbinger cab.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excllent CrossoverI have always been an Eminence fan. Quality products at affordable prices. So naturally I had no problem purchasing these crossovers when I needed to revamp 2 cabinets. These crossovers do exactly as they say. Very happy customer. It's also handy that I live in the same state as my Parts-Express store. I usually always get my items the next day. Very happy with this store. Will always buy from here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I installed these into both of my pa speakers...huge differenceI must admit, I was not really sold on these when I went to buy the Selenium D220Ti 1" Titanium Horn Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18 s, however, I am convinced now. made a basic repair into a bit more pricy upgrade, but the performance is remarkable. anythng with a tweeter and woofer is a good fit. you will not regret it.

Eminence PXB2:1K6 2-Way Speaker Crossover Board 1,600 Hz

ampeg PF350 bass head DIY cab with an Eminence Kappa Pro 15lf2 and 2 Pyle MF1020. All 3 speakers are 8 ohm, head optimum is 4 ohm. Hybrid series-parallel wiring giving me 5 ohms resistence. Cuts out at a low volume. Will this help? Zero experience.

I built 4 PA mains each using 2 Eminence delta 12's and a Selenium DT210 horn driver. I bought Eminence crossovers PXB2:3K5 but they blow fuses a lot. I need a crossover that is about 600 watts 2000k xover point for 4 ohms low/8 ohms @ 18db hi, any ideas?

Asked by: joesockit
We do not carry a crossover that fits those specifications. The closest item we would have has a 6 or 12 db slope for 1800Hz, and can handle 650 watts. It is part # 294-2867. Feel free to contact our tech support for more help with this question, or 800-338-0531 x1.

Can I use this crossover with a 400W woofer and a 150W driver?

Asked by: hrmatsui
Yes this will work fine as long as the horn driver can safely handle a crossover point of 1,600 Hz.

Will my Morel 338-104 tweeters, rated 1800-20000 Hz, be suited to this x-over or will I risk damage to the tweeters?

Asked by: pussthedog
This crossover will likely work, and should not damage your tweeters (as long as their power handling is not exceeded) but distortion from the tweeter may be higher. A rule of thumb is to never crossover to a tweeter at a frequency lower than 2x Fs (this equates to one octave above Fs), because distortion in tweeters usually increases nearer to the driver's Fs. With some of the better tweeters out there, you can "push it" a little closer to Fs, and the increase in distortion may not be audible or objectionable.

If I use these with a 6 ohm load , how far down will the lower freq shift and would that leave a noticeable sonic hole. If the difference wasn't to much I would prefer to use these.

Asked by: spunk
A 6 ohm load will not change anything enough to matter in this case. If you are replacing a stock crossover, the difference between the two crossovers will be more audible than just the fact that it's a 6 ohm driver.
