Product Details

Eminence PXB:5K0 High Pass Crossover Board 5,000 Hz
Eminence pxb board-only crossovers are a lower cost alternative to the "cabinet ready" models and are targeted specifically for custom cabinet projects as they do not include the terminal cup, input connectors or L-pad found on the "cabinet ready" models. They feature advanced circuit design to both preserve the crossover and your drivers. A benefit of the design is to form a voltage divider across the high frequency driver. The high-pass protection uses custom-built aerospace lamps. The tungsten filaments effectively track the program material, dynamically maintaining a safe maximum current level to the high frequency driver without introducing distortion. This circuitry provides smooth 3:1 analog compression during input overload conditions over 250 watts RMS. At full drive level approaching clipping, the electrical attenuation to the protected high frequency driver is -4.5 dB. In every way, Eminence pxb crossovers are a technically superior product. For use with 8 ohm drivers.

Eminence PXB:5K0 High Pass Crossover Board 5,000 Hz
Eminence PXB:5K0 High Pass Crossover Board 5,000 Hz is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very sturdy, sound greatI like these alot. The only thing I would change is I would like to have been able to solder the wires on to the board as my design had a fairly complex wiring scheme, and it got messy with the connector tabs. As it is you can't solder onto this board. The caps seem to sink the heat energy too quickly to get the solder to melt before damaging them.Use connector clips.

Eminence PXB:5K0 High Pass Crossover Board 5,000 Hz

If it is connected with Two 8 ohms in Parallel and it will become 4 ohms, does it become 2.5 kHz?

Asked by: BLKEVO9
Since this is a third order crossover there will be very little change in the crossover point when you halve the impedance.

Thanks for a quick answer. Will the crossover point be affected if an electronic crossover is applied before the load?

per say, If I use an electronic crossover, then I put a 4, 2, or 8 ohm load on the amp, will the crossover point change then?
Asked by: eln1ce
Yes, as long as there is a passive crossover and anything other than an 8 ohm load connected to it the crossover point will be different. If you actively cross everything there is no need for the passive.

will this work well if I use it on TWO prv audio tw450-ti tweeters? or how about with four 8ohm tweeters to one of these crossovers?

Asked by: eln1ce
This crossover will only affectively cross an 8 ohm load at 5kHz. Two 8 ohm loads in parallel will make it 4 ohms which will change the crossover point. Four 8 ohm tweeters in series/parallel however will work fine.
