Product Details

Eminence PXB:3K5 High Pass Crossover Board 3,500 Hz
Eminence pxb board-only crossovers are a lower cost alternative to the "cabinet ready" models and are targeted specifically for custom cabinet projects as they do not include the terminal cup, input connectors or L-pad found on the "cabinet ready" models. They feature advanced circuit design to both preserve the crossover and your drivers. A benefit of the design is to form a voltage divider across the high frequency driver. The high-pass protection uses custom-built aerospace lamps. The tungsten filaments effectively track the program material, dynamically maintaining a safe maximum current level to the high frequency driver without introducing distortion. This circuitry provides smooth 3:1 analog compression during input overload conditions over 250 watts RMS. At full drive level approaching clipping, the electrical attenuation to the protected high frequency driver is -4.5 dB. In every way, Eminence pxb crossovers are a technically superior product. For use with 8 ohm drivers.

Eminence PXB:3K5 High Pass Crossover Board 3,500 Hz
Eminence PXB:3K5 High Pass Crossover Board 3,500 Hz is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eminence PXB:3K5 makes a big difference.I bought these crossovers a few weeks ago and I immediately installed them in myEminence Alpha-15A 15" speaker system. I built my own cabinets used a small Neo tweeter. I first used a high quality capacitor for a crossover and I had a nice sound.I decided to use these crossovers because I read other people's review of this product. Yes, these crossovers smooth out the sound of the system. The result is a lower distortion system. It was the best investment that I could have made. I am delighted with my results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exactly what it should beI purchased a pair of these to replace a wiring disaster in a 30-year-old pair of community CS35 speakers (15" speakers w/ 1" horn, 175w 8ohm). What I got was not what is pictured, but was much better. It's heavy, but looks pretty durable (which is nice for speakers that get thrown around). There were no instructions, but if you can't figure out what "in" "w" and "t" mean, you shouldn't be doing a project like this maybe.considering the age of my cabs, they sound pretty darn good. Is this due to a new crossover? maybe. It sure beats $60-$100 for the whole i/o assy's.

Eminence PXB:3K5 High Pass Crossover Board 3,500 Hz

Hi, What's about the "special aerospace bulb", do you carry them as spare parts ? Thanks

Asked by: Asperger1
Yes we do have those available separately.

I'm thinking about direct connecting 12"s in my guitar cab for full range and using a PXB:3K5 on the single 6.5". Will my impedance fluctuate on my cab? I'm concerned about the load on my guitar tube amp. I'm hoping I can avoid a 2-way crossover. Thanks

Asked by: dlp4
It really depends on the impedance profile of the 12's you have. Usually at 3.5kHz a larger drivers impedance will have already started to rise, so I don't see this being a big problem.

Would this work for this tweeter, Part # 275-095? I am trying to build a portable speaker system with that tweeter and this mid-range, Part # 297-429. Thanks

Asked by: GoBucks
The lowest I would recommend crossing that tweeter is 6kHz.

So what do you get when you order this? Why are there nowiring diagrams wit this? Thanks

Asked by: spudson
This does not include a wiring diagram, but the crossover board is labeled which should help with wiring.

I am building a (2) 10" bass speaker cab to run at 4 ohms.  Would this work as an appropriate crossover ?  I was planning on using an Eminence APT-80 tweeter for my highs.

Asked by: Jim470
I would recommend something like part number 260-146 instead. this will still cross them at 3,500 Hz although it will work with a 4 ohm woofer load.
