Reviews

Eminence PX-LPAD Crossover L-Pad Attenuator
Eminence PX-LPAD Crossover L-Pad Attenuator is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Performer...Using this LPAD to balance the tweeters on my DJ Speakers just behind a two-way cross over. Installation was fairly quick and easy using a hole saw. Wired per instruction. Operation is very solid. The speakers sound much better!

How does this L-pad differ from the P/E L-pad (Part # 260-265)?

Asked by: mtoole
The two LPADS are very comparable. Both LPADS are designed for a power capacity of 100 watts at 8 ohm. Different faceplates.

Is there one L pad made for a 4 ohm cabinet. I made a bass guitar cab using ur 3.5 crossover and a APT 80 tweet. Used a 4 ohm PV 1504 -

Asked by: rus449
Unfortunately we do not have any 4 ohm L-pads available. The L-pad only goes in line with the tweeter after the crossover so you need an 8 ohm L-pad for the APT 80 tweeter.

What is the size of the body and the length of the shaft of the L pad Eminence PX Lpad Attenuator

Asked by: Christo
The dimensions of the L-pad are:H: 2-5/8" (Round)W: 2-5/8" (Round)D: 2-1/4" (With faceplate attached)Faceplate Cutout: 2-3/8" (Square)I believe the shaft is ~ 5/8" long, but if you use the faceplate and knob included it will all be flush on the (relative) front.

Why specs in this website do not indicate impedance and power capacity? Values of impedance and power capacity? Thanks!

Asked by: JB71
They are on the page - scroll down and find 100 watts RMS power handling capacity. 8 ohm impedance.

The question is does this Eminence L-pad maintain an 8 ohm impedence?

Technically yes, that should be the function of an L-pad. But apparently from the review of a PE L-pad by another professional, not all L-pads are created equally. That one fluctuated between 8-12 ohms.
Asked by: slewcrew7778
The answer is "no" and "yes".No, this L-pad, and most other analog devices, will not perform PERFECTLY across their entire range of attenuation.Yes, this L-pad will perform ACCEPTABLY through its range of attenuation. Are you doing lab work, with an absolute zero-tolerance for any deviation from exactly 8 ohms? That is not the world of practical analog audio. If you are attenuating an audio driver, this Eminence L-pad will be much closer to 8 ohms than a speaker or driver itself will be through its range of frequencies.I don't think you will experience any audible flaw in the performance of this L-pad. I've bought and used a number of these Eminence L-pads without any kind of problem.
