Eminence PSD:2002S-8 1" Titanium Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal on a replacement 1" throat driverI bought this to replace some no-name knockoff drivers in some speaker cabinets, along with a Selenium D220ti. Even though the Selenium has a bit "brighter" sound, it burned out rather quickly. the Eminence is still going strong. This product is OEM in a LOT of speaker systems by a wide number of brands names - Yamaha,Carvin, EAW, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat it for any price.Once upon a time, I used only JBL. 2420 &2425 for a 1" application. Then I tried one of these, and at 1/10th the price this driver not was only in the same league---but as good. I have over 50 1" mouths to feed (exit throat that is) and no one knows the difference. I have FUSSY clients and my reputation is my living. If you find a 1" driver that's better---please post so we all can make money!!! Joe in SF

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great driver!!!Very efficient and clean. Have used the 16 ohm version for years(>15 yrs). Had one develop a slight distortion when I did a 1 watt test sweep. The only reason I bought a new pair. Can't wait to get it outside this w/e and let it "breathe" thru the constant directivity horn! Will update ya's soon, Dave

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save your money--BUY THIS!!!!High output and long lasting (if you cross-over above 2khz). I have built several loudspeakers systems (and up graded several) with this 1" driver. No worries. Yup--any 1" unit will fail with too much bass or power, but at this price and the cost for new voice coils, you can't beat this one. (sounds great as well).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy High Output BatmanI am using one of these drivers to match up with four 10 inck base speakers rated at 200 watts each with an efficiency rating of 94db each combined they should be near 103db. The driver is attached to an Eminence BH410 horn. I am using an Eminence crossover unit PX2-1K6. To balance the output I have the High Frequency level pad turned almost all the way down. The sound pressure level and clarity of this driver is off the charts. To keep the level pad from burning up I will need to insert a resistor in the driver path. The output from these drivers is amasing. Crisp, clear, transparent. I'm glad that I tried them out. In fact, I thinking of incorporating them in a few of my next projects to see how they do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good sound butsounds very good and loud, but for the threading on to a horn, Eminence powedered coated the threads, 2 turns then stops, its almost impossible to remove coating on threads, you have to use a oil filter removal tool or a large adjustable pliers and force it on, its a poor design problem, nobody else coats the threads,

Eminence PSD:2002S-8 1" Titanium Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18

I have jbl 2404 these drivers with the APT 200 horn could replace them. Am I comparing apples to apples ? Not sure of the polar reponse. Oh I use in a 4way system crossover at 5Khz 24dB/oct

Asked by: roydant

It looks like this can be screw mounted to the Beta 12cx coax driver. Is this a good match? What should the crossover point be?

Asked by: Sammu
These will work with the Beta CX drivers, I would recommend a crossover point around 2.5kHz.

Suitable replacement horn driver for JRX115 Cab?

Hi there,Would you guys recommend this or the Selenium D220Ti as a replacement in a JBL JRX115 Cab? The JRX crossover is set to 1.6 kHz, which matches this horn, and the D220Ti recommends 2 kHz. I'm looking for a nice balanced sound and avoid ear piercing highs. Thanks
Asked by: Javier
Either driver will be a great upgrade, the Selenium is much more popular.

Looking to replace a blown EV DH3/2010A, would this be best?

Asked by: labemis
"Best" is subject to opinion, so I cannot say that this (or any other driver) would be the "best" replacement for you. Eminence does make a good quality product, if the driver you're replacing is a metallic dome, 1" throat, 1-3/8" thread-in driver, then this would be suitable to replace it.
