Eminence Legend CA154 15" Bass Guitar Driver 300W 4 Ohm
Eminence Legend CA154 15" Bass Guitar Driver 300W 4 Ohm is rated 4.7143 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've tried, but the CA154 refuses to die.Purchased this speaker to replace the original 15" Jensen that fires into the mechanical bass rotor on a 50-year-old Leslie Model 21H. The original bass speaker on a second Leslie just blew (it was also showing its age), and I knew exactly where to turn and the speaker I wanted to take its place. The Eminence easily handles the true +300 watt signal it sometimes finds itself receiving, and it doesn't snap, crackle, pop or otherwise protest when the frequency response might wander above its rated 3,000 Hz.As the louver visible in the photo shows, a Leslie cabinet doesn't come close to being sealed or ported as the specs suggest, or as it would likely be used in a home audio setup where a 300 pound keyboard isn't being wielded in a live music venue to deafen 500 people. Yet despite all the non-spec abuse sent its way, it routinely takes a licking and keeps on ticking.Blown Leslie speakers are a notorious part of the cost of doing business in this business. For its price, the CA154 delivers a ton of value while stubbornly refusing to die. As a bass cab replacement speaker (the Leslie market is admittedly on the small side), the CA154 will do just fine. And considering what you paid for the thing, you can easily afford to bring along a spare.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good speakerI bought this speaker thinking that my speaker was blown. Turns out it wasn't. This thing really kicked. I hooked it up to a 300 watt amp and was surprised at the sound of it for the price. Its definitely worth the price. If i ever need any thing like this again, im buying it here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bought to use for jammingfound that I had to use a lot of power to keep up with the guitarist.. much more than a 1990 combo amp I have with a single 15. good spare speaker, but that about it. all the other items worked very wrll.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Worth Looking Into!I found a acoustic B200 cabinet with no 15" speaker. Had been looking for a speaker, but just couldn't find the one I wanted,so I purchased this one. So glad I did. Nice!! sound.Speaker fit right in the cabinet,no problems. So far I have only got the amp up too around 4.WOW!!! Its loud and full.I know where my next speaker will come from!!

Can I series two of these speakers together for an 8 ohm load and use a passive radiator as a ported box. If so what size box would I use and what size passive radiator will be needed. I am going to use a Bogen MT 250 power amp. 250 watt's, 600 watt peak?

Asked by: marksbass
These will not work well with passive radiators. I would recommend a standard vented cab that is 6.3 cubic feet for both, with two 4" diameter holes in the box (3/4" port length) for a tuning frequency of 45 Hz.
