Will this work really good with the subwoofer Knock Down PA cabinet you sell?...item #245-328 I dont understand all of the driver specs to build my own cabinet.
You should search for a "box calculator" - it allows you to plug in the specs. It will then give you the volume, port diameter and length - along with tuning frequencuy and -3d down point (the F3). This is an expensive driver - and as a DIYer, you should do some homework on a project of this cost. While the knock down cabinet 245-328 is decent. I think you will find that it is way too small - and not the right solution. I'd build a custom cabinet to match the driver. You can read a lot of articles on materials, bracing, sealing air spaces etc... it's not too hard - you just need to take it one step at a time. PE even sells the ports you need.. what is the optimum enclosure size for use with bass guitar ?
This woofer will work very well in 5.6 cubic feet with a 6" diameter, 10" long port. This will provide a tuning frequency of 32 Hz which will work well for both 4 and 5 string bass guitars.Rough external dimensions for a box this size would be 18"x18"x37", port placement does not matter.

The description references a weather resistant cone/dustcap and a treated surround. Are these drivers truly weather resistant and fit for sheltered, outdoor use?
Weather resistant is a tricky phrase. There are specific drivers designed for built-in sheltered applications - such as the subs at the volcano at the Mirage in Vegas. This intention of this driver is to be in a sound reinforcement cabinet and will do well with the elements, sheltered. I would not leave it out permanently. While the cone and dust cap are treated, due to the cabinet design, the internal components have no protection to humidity or condensation.
